Bridal Party & Parent Gifts

Melissa, on August 29, 2019 at 11:12 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
I need inspiration! We are 22 days out and I’m slacking on gifts.

What is everyone doing for these? I’ve already got hangers for my girls and will be doing tote bags and tumblers (monograms, nothing saying bridesmaid except the hangers) and most likely pajamas for getting ready (also only monograms). I told FH I wanted to maybe add a gift card or something that I know they will use and his response was, that’s cheese and bridal party gifts don’t usually get used again. I know the bags, tumblers and pajamas will get used again, but any suggestions for affordable gifts to add in? Note, no jewelry or lotions/spray bc my girls have sensitive skin.

Also looking for parent gifts as well for both of his parents and my dad.

You can add a compact mirror ! That'll for sure be used again and is inexpensive.

Personalized notes are always so special and maybe a snack that they like? We’re doing personalized lockets, and robes. and we went around to different places and picked out different coffee mugs for everyone.

Something sentimental I am doing for my girls is a hand embroidered handkerchief that my great grandma made years ago. Each one is different just like my girls. They are criers so I figured this is perfect!

That’s such a great idea. I’ll have to look around for something like that.

There will definitely be handwritten cards in there as well. Snacks are a great idea because it will be a long day.

    For Bridesmaids, I did:

Proposal Gifts: Jewelry Boxes filled with nail polish, liquor shooters, hair ties that said "to have and to hold your hair back"

Bach Party Favors: Hangover Kits and Wine Tumblers

Day of: Tote, Tumbler, cute socks, a thank you letter, a getting ready outfit (they picked among 3 options - a robe, romper, or long pj shirt), I paid for HAMU, breakfast & lunch & transportation, and hired a chair masseuse.

    Parents:

Bride's Dad: letter from bride & groom, personalized socks, tie with a personalized patch with a baby picture of me & my dad that said "always your little girl", picture frame that said "out of all of our walks, this if my favorite"

Bride's Mom: letter from bride & groom, tote, ring dish, wine tumbler that said "I survived my daughter's wedding"

Bride's Stepdad: letter from bride, tie with a personalized patch on the back that said "you didn't give me the gift of life, but life gave me the gift of you"

Groom's Dad: Elk antler tie clip, letter from bride & groom, personalized socks

Groom's Mom: Bought her dress, a tote, letter from bride & groom, personalized handkerchief, bracelet

Groom's Stepmom: A tote, letter from bride, Yankee candle, and necklace

I love the little bottles of liquor idea! I gave them similar makeup bags when I asked them, but I’m thinking the liquor or a small bottle of wine may work.

Yeah, that would be cute! I like being gifted fuzzy/comfy socks, water bottles or coffee mugs too. I hate being gifted jewelry or makeup though. I think every BM is different unfortunately!

I paid for my MOH hmu, elective, and gave her a card. I paid for my junior bridesmaid and flower girls hair, elective. I also gave them sequin pouches with hair accessories. We gave the ring bearers and junior groomsman Phillies tshirts (along with purchasing their ties/bowties, not a gift but an expense). We paid for the best man's hotel room. We gave my in laws a gift card, bottle of wine and card. We gave my mom rose gold hoops and my dad a watch.

For bridesmaids I did tumblers with their names laser engraved, make up bags with their names, hair ties that match the wedding colors and "To have and to hold.. Your hair back", EOS lip balm, and a face mask for after the wedding. For parents I just bought for the Moms. I will give both mine and his Moms personalized picture frames, and for his Stepmom I will give her a bracelet that matches a necklace she already has

Coffee mug, candles, nail polish, special coffee or tea in addition to a mug! Fancy chocolate. For his mom I am getting an embroidered handkerchief and for my mom a locket with a saying I know she’ll find sentimental! FH is getting the dad gifts.
