Bridal party proposal party?

Anna, on June 3, 2019 at 11:48 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
Hello! So I have made proposal boxes for all 8 of my girls and I wanted to invite them all out for a brunch and give them the boxes. I am scratching my head on how to get them together. At first I thought “tricking” them by inviting them to a bday brunch but then o thought it will backfire bc they’ll end up getting me gifts when I’m reality I want to surprise them. Should I just invite them to an “engagement brunch”? We aren’t having an engagement party but I thought I could make simple invitations and mail them out that way they can take the hint to dress up a bit and don’t think I want gifts. Anyone think this will work? Should I have fiancé join us or just keep it me and the girls?

I wouldn't get them all together.. Meet up with each one for coffee or lunch or just wait until a normal time that you would see them. You have 15 months until your wedding, so plenty of time. Giving gifts already puts a lot of pressure on people to say yes, even if for some reason they want to say no. Asking in front of 7 other people will put even more unnecessary pressure on them.

I already unofficially asked them all and they have expressed excitement and an unofficial yes. So I thought it would be nice to get them all together to give them their gifts and have them all meet while treating them to brunch.

If you're a friend group, just ask them to a brunch to catch up. No need to put any fancy titles on it. If anyone asks what the occasion is, just say that you need a girls day!! If your fiance really wants to go let him, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind being left at home

I would do just girls and just text everyone that you want to go out to brunch...but if you've already "unofficially" asked them and they've "unofficially" said yes, I wouldn't be so concerned with trying to pull off some great "surprise."

If it were me I would ask them individually because it seems easier and it reduces the likelihood of needing all of em there at once. Man I love the idea of proposing to them though. That's my one regret. I didn't do that to mine because they knew already but in hindsight I regret it because it would have been cute and thoughtful

Can you just invite them to a normal brunch?

This. No need for it to be a fancier affair.

My fiancé and I are having a cookout this month at our house and invited his groomsmen and my bridesmaids and just told them we wanted to get together to kick off summer. We plan on giving the proposals then, if some can’t make it then we will have to do it individually with them. Have fun with it But don’t feel like you need to actually propose to them lol!

I just took each girl out individually and gave them their gifts except for 1 friend who is out of state I knew I wasn't seeing anytime soon. So I just surprise mailed her gift to her.
