Any recommendations on how to ask my friends and family how to be in my bridal party?

I just asked with words. I did not do an elaborate proposal with gifts. I would be concerned that people would feel obligated to accept.

Maybe one of those cool proposal cards?? Or just ask them, I did a box for my sister (MOH) and for my 4 bridesmaids but I haven’t asked them yet because I changed my mind about having any bridesmaids afterwards.. I still have the boxes, maybe I’ll change my mind later lol. So just a MOH for now..

I did boxes because I knew they would all say yes, we have been talking about this for years. My sister just asked her friends/cousins individually at lunch or coffee. I would say it's a know your crowd type of thing. Etsy has some really cute cards if you want it to be special without spending a lot of money. You can always do a cute box later as a thank you gift.

I got wine glasses with a nail polish and tiny bottle of wine for each bridesmaid. I added a necklace for my 2 MOH. They each had a cute card with a memory of the 2 of us and me asking them.

My FH got random things for his groomsmen.

I gave my bridesmaids some skittles and starburst and a hair tie on a card that said "will you help me tie the knot?"
I spent $3-$5 on each girl.

I promise my thank you gifts are going to be better than my proposals! I just couldn't justify spending oodles of money while I was putting down deposits. I have more time to afford my thank you gifts. Smiley smile

I got them koozies that said team bride on them! They were only like 50 cent each so it was a pretty small expense and I stuck a homemade ask card in them

I did boxes for my bridesmaids because I knew they would say yes and have been long time friends around 10 years and one from hubby's side that hes known since middle school. It was just loose tea in a small container, tea infuser, homemade pastry (my mom loves baking) and a scratch off from party city, groomsmen were given a card and a glass cup engraved bought my flower girl (neice) shoes we could match in and ring bearer just small boy toys and and everyone else were just asked thankfully they were in my budget but if they aren't in yours or you dont really mind I would go for something really simple the people you ask will be excited regardless Smiley smile

I asked my girls around Christmas and wanted to make that a part of their gift. Personalizing it to them, I made gift boxes full of their favorite snacks and gifts for them. In each box I wrote them each a note explain why I love them and why I would like them to be in my wedding party.

It wasn't over the top, but still a nice way to acknowledge their friendship.

I did boxes because like many pp's I know my BP will say yes and most of them already know it is coming. I got the boxes themselves off Amazon. Sponge painted champagne glasses from Ikea. Ordered some personalized cookies off Etsy. Make-up pouches from Davids Bridal. Splits of Champagne and a Card. I'm actually sending/giving mine out in the next week!!

The card's I got were super cute on Etsy and pretty affordable!

We had these glasses and shot glasses personalized. Glasses and bags both came from the dollar store, we decided to do shirts for the ones who are underaged.

I just asked them. I was going to do a box with goodies but I'm broke trying to save for the wedding.
