Bridal show disappointment

Sydney, on September 28, 2019 at 7:13 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7

Hello all!

I went to a bridal show in August and my fiance and I were in a dance contest. We supposedly won a DJ package worth $500 and I was so excited! After my fiance and I made fools of ourselves on stage (which was really fun!) we gave our contact information to the DJ. He told us that he would be in contact with us on the following Monday. Surprise, surprise, he never called. I decided to take it upon myself to reach out to him (let's be real, DJs are expensive!). I tried to call the company, no answer. A week later, I tried to call again-same thing. So I filled out a contact form on their website and the DJ texted me saying that he was currently unavailable to talk, but he would reach out soon. I responded and said that I was recently at the bridal show and wanted to further discuss my prize for the dance contest. Guess what? No reply. This was over a month ago. I know that wedding vendors work very hard to provide services to all of us, and I respect that, but this just makes that company and the show look bad. I don't think that bridal shows should include inauthentic vendors. I'm just disappointed, but are there any suggestions about anything else I can do?

I’d reach out to the company the put on the bridal show and let them know about your experience with this vendor. They may be able to do something to rectify it.

I'm so sorry, but I think a lot of bridal show give-aways are scams. Even if they do respond, I'd be very hesitant about using a vendor who basically tried to commit fraud. Maybe they are just "busy," but ask a LOT of questions, if they do respond.

I had something similar happen to me. I went to a bridal show and won a buy one get one package with an entertainment company. I spoke with the owner( on more than one occasion) and went over everything I wanted for my wedding. Photo booth, dancing on clouds, dj, etc. He always said he would email me documents to go over and to schedule a meeting in the office to go over photo booth designs and what not. I never got any emails or option to schedule an appointment. He just stopped replying, I was actually bummed because I thought I was getting a great deal and saving money. I guess he didn’t really want to honor the door prize.

I would definitely contact the host of the bridal show and let them know. And if they continue being flakey, I would leave reviews everywhere honestly. That's really unprofessional and a waste of any bride/groom/potential client's time.
