Bridal Show Door Prize

Officially Mrs. Walden, on November 4, 2013 at 1:09 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

So I went to my first bridal show this Sunday and it was nice. As my fellow brides-to-be informed me it is a bit overwhelming and I'm happy to have used the pre-printed label idea. They said you can win a door prize and if you receive an email that means you have won.

I received an email saying I was one of the selected for a door prize but then it asks to let them know what other bridal show I can attend to pick it up. I emailed back and said what was the door prize and they said they don't know. Is it worth my time to go to another one or is it some silly gift bag or something ? It's an inconvenience to go to another this weekend so I wanted to know if any of you have experienced the same thing?

Who host the bridal show? The ones that I went to, announced all of the door prizes. But there were some that wanted brides to come back to "pick up" their gifts. It turned out to be an all day workshop for some household products. (knives, blenders, etc) At the end of the workshop, they give you a choice of Tungsten Ring for $25.00, one day stay at a hotel, etc.

I didn't have the time or patient to go to an all day workshop; I got the $25.00 JVL Tungsten ring code from another WW bride. Good luck

@Robin yes they said I had to "pick up" my gift and that I needed to let them know which other one I could attend to pick it up. I questioned that because I figured why do I have to attend another one to pick up the door prize? If its something good then I will do it but if it's just some crappy gift basket or something I don't have the time. I emailed them back and asked what it was and they said they didn't know.

Find out what vendor you won from. Normally you would go to them and pick it up. Be persistent. Someone has to know something!!! After you find out what the prize is, decide if it is worth it.

I attended a bridal show once. I won and they sent the email to the wrong address..... Luckily the vendor contacted me.

:/ they just said it was from the NJ Expo center and when I attend the other one tell them I won a door prize from the previous location at the registration table.

To be more specific I found out about these wedding shows through "American Bride." I think it is quite annoying that no one knows what it is. I will send another email and see if they at least know the vendor. Thanks @BayBride

That sounds like a scam. You attended one show. You won. They should give you your damn prize, not suck you into another show. I wouldn't do it.

That sounds shady. Don't give them any information about yourself. Keep asking for supervisors until you get the info you need or just leave it alone. There are a lot of contest scammers out.

Usually they announce the grand prizes or if you fill out a card they call you. Find out from the vendor themselves.

Thanks ladies! It does sound shady. If I won a good prize the vendor will contact me. Otherwise I can't be bothered.
