Hi all! I went to a bridal show a few months ago and registered my name and phone number. Hi all!

I went to a bridal show a few months ago and registered my name and phone number. I got a call today from a company called NHI International saying I won 2 wedding bands, a 3/day 2/night trip to the Caribbean, and champagne flutes. All I have to do is go to a "bridal expo" at the Holiday Inn in my city.

Has anyone every encountered anything like this? I searched them online and they appear to be a real company, but their website is odd. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

Thanks!

I just attended something similar this past weekend. Pots and pans are ridiculously priced but it was interesting to see how they work and get to try some food. I just went in knowing I wouldn't buy and walked out with my champagne flutes, ring certificate and 3day 2 night trip. The sales lady did tell us "good luck. Hope you find a good set of cookware" in a snotty tone.

It is such a scam!!!!!!! Even if you say no they keep calling!! The actually know some of the people who run that company. They change what they say every time they call you so I throws you off. You don't get all the gift and you have to pay taxes on the stuff you get. You have to buy expensive cookware. They will call you non stop!!!!!

They have people call you non stop telling you you are the lucky winner. You do get rings but you have to pay a lot of taxes and you only get the other gift if you buy cookware they cost so much money. They tell you only you and Your fiancé can attend that's because they think together you will spend 7000 on stupid pots and pans lol!!!! Not a scam but sooo not worth it. I know for a fact!

I got a call like this. They wanted me to buy cookware. I told them to take my name off their list. I don't think I saw them at a bridal show. Somehow they've gotten my number and I don't know where.

This post is super helpful. I got this call and did a quick search while she was talking, I do remember reading this way back when, glad I could read through it really quick while she was talking.

Bumping because I just got a call from them and I'm very glad I searched for them. They wanted me to go to one tomorrow but FH is working so if we can't both be there, it won't count.

Hi!!! We just attended this show yesterday and it is not a scam. The guy that did the "cooking show" was very fast, he tried to make it as fast as he could. The stuff they tell you does make sense, when it comes to the metal and paint that is being used in our pots. What I love the most was that at the end, he ask everyone do you want the gifts or you want to buy. Those people that just wanted the gifts, he handed the certificates right away and all he said was "Thank you". He didn't eve try to convince them to buy anything. At the beginning of the presentation he did say, you have to pay shipping and handling and taxes. Honestly, anytime you win something, you always have to pay for Taxes and Shipping and handling.

Has anyone gone on the actual trip? I know that you have to pay for the taxes and travel.

I had the same thing, same company. My FSIL who is also getting married went to the same bridal show with me was sitting right next to me when I got the call. Then she got the same call an hour later. And she had already got called by them from the previous show she went to the week or two before. Needless to say neither of us went.

Yes, this is a scam. The salesman, Jerry, can sell very well but it's just pans. He is not a nice person and thinks he is funny with condescending jokes because he starts off with hey, I know all the guys here thought this was a scam and then he starts showing you that it in fact is a scam. No gold or Platinum available for rings, it's titanium. The vacation, you have to pay for everything day, given it's reduced but you have to check in Sunday through Tuesday at some point basically taking all value away. And maybe the champagne glasses don't have hoops to.jumo through. I had to leave for something and asked for a card or book about his pans to just see what he'd say and if I could get one of the gift cards since I had sat there for over an hour and he just said nope. Do not waste your time. This is worse than a timeshare salesman.

That just happened to us! We JUST got the phone call last night to meet up tonight (how that was a quick turnaround I don't know) to see the cookware and have a cooking demo. To be honest, we already know what rings we are getting, the honeymoon is being planned, and I can just get the champagne flutes myself. It sounded way too good to be true. I won't be going. I just hate they have my information Smiley sad
