Hi all!

I went to a bridal show a few months ago and registered my name and phone number. I got a call today from a company called NHI International saying I won 2 wedding bands, a 3/day 2/night trip to the Caribbean, and champagne flutes. All I have to do is go to a "bridal expo" at the Holiday Inn in my city.

Has anyone every encountered anything like this? I searched them online and they appear to be a real company, but their website is odd. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

Thanks!

    Hello all,

My husband and I wanted to write this review because we won this honeymoon trip at a bridal expo as well and we too went online to read reviews to see if it was a scam, and after just coming back from our honeymoon wanted to let everyone know, it is NOT a scam. This is NOT a free honeymoon but you do save some money. We went to the cooking show and it is very tempting to buy their expensive pots and pans, but we still said no and received our voucher for our 4 day 3 night stay to different hotels in the US or hotels outside the US as well. We submitted our voucher and had to pay $50 to start our process. We then got to tell them our top 3 hotels we would like to go to and two choices of dates that worked. They emailed us back and we got all of our top choices which was in Riviera Maya. We ended up adding on 2 more extra days and got charged half the cost. We had to pay for the taxes, and the 2 extra days which ended up costing around $680. Our air fair was about $800. We found out this trip would have cost us around $2800 so although we did have to spend some money, did save as well.

The hotel was a 5 star hotel and was an amazing honeymoon where we were greeted with welcome drinks and got a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries with a congrats on your honeymoon in the room. You do have to bring a copy of your marriage certificate to show you are in fact on your honeymoon. Everything was amazing and even the lady before we went on the trip (from Funjet vacations) called us to make sure we knew everything we needed to know for this trip.

If anyone is in any doubt, feel free to message us or ask any questions. We just wanted to share to everyone out there our experience and let people know that its not a scam, just not a free trip.

I went to a bridal expo, won this trip from NHI, and will go to this presentation tomorrow. I understand paying for shipping, handling, and taxes, but was this prize legit? What was your take on it?

If you want to read my post I wrote a few days ago. It’s not a scam but it’s not completely free.

Major scam. They charge you tons of fees and waste your time. Not a good idea to entertain them.

Its almost a year now. I'm curious, did you ever get your trip? Or anything? I just got the call from the same one offering the exact things. But I don't wanna waste my time and sit through it for nothing. Would it be worth going?

It's not fake, but, you only get the free stuff if you buy the cookware. The cheapest cookware they have is a set for $1500, and they have insane taxes, and $45 interest each month. There is no way to return the cookware if you do not like it. You have 3 days from signing the contract to cancel, and you do not receive your cookware for 14 days. It's a classic MLM, or pyramid scheme. After all taxes and fees, before interest, we are paying $2100 for four pans, four lids, and "free knives". I would buy the knives again in a heartbeat. Not the pans. They're not all that.

Yes. I thought it was SO WEIRD how "25 lucky winners" were picked... Well I went to the wedding expo with my fiance' and his sister and we all three got contacted separately (we all entered). I was definitely super skeptical we signed up for it but I was working (it's for today funny enough) and my future sister in law was off too thank God. But if it's good to be true, sometimes it's too good to be true. It's a shame.

In my experience, things like that are a scam. I once had a similar situation and I researched them online and they seemed legit, so I proceeded with it and went to their expo thing as well. I communicated with them through their website until they told me I had to send them $100 IN CASH ONLY to get he rest of the details to win my trip!!!!!
