Hi all!

I went to a bridal show a few months ago and registered my name and phone number. I got a call today from a company called NHI International saying I won 2 wedding bands, a 3/day 2/night trip to the Caribbean, and champagne flutes. All I have to do is go to a "bridal expo" at the Holiday Inn in my city.

Has anyone every encountered anything like this? I searched them online and they appear to be a real company, but their website is odd. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

Thanks!

I didn't receive a call, but I got a text and thought it was pretty cool so my fiance and I decided to go. Well, two days later I get another text this time with a different name saying I won. This time instead of NHI they are calling themselves The Bridal Registry. Based off of everything I am reading on here and my gut after getting the second text, I am so not going. I don't like being pushed into buying something I don't want. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences!

No, do not do any of it. We learned the hard way (kind of). I got the call and I was like "OMG I NEVER WIN ANYTHING, YAY!" I dragged my poor fiance to this convention center to "claim my prize" and I would just have to sit in and watch a cooking show, but was no obligated to buy anything and they weren't trying to sell me anything. Well my fiance said scam right away, I said who cares lets check it out. We went, there were 4 other couples there-they had the cookware set up-the guy gave us the run-down, made it look super appealing, and then said if we buy it we will get a free 9 day vacation or something. We signed up thinking we could afford it and whatever. Well, on the way home we talked and had regrets. The flute glasses were cheap looking, the wedding bands are nothing special, and the 2 night stay you get for "free" is actually not free- you still have to pay taxes and such (which some places came to 160 bucks or more. We had 48 hours to get out of the deal and we did just that as soon as we got home.

It is not a scam per say, but you are not getting cut any type of deal. They make it seem like you are, but the cookware company is just working with vendors and they help each other out getting deals. Don't waste your time- I mean it.

Oh and I wanted to add something that made us change our minds: If for any reason this "kitchen charm" company goes under, what happens to your life time warranty?

Also, how long have they been around? Really read reviews about it. There are plenty of skeptical reviews out there. The positive reviews online could be paid reviewers as well. Just be careful. So I may have claimed it to be a scam, and it feels that way, but technically it is not-ALTHOUGH nothing is free, and you will end up spending thousands.

I hear what you are saying I just got a call yesterday I think I’m gonna go. Also all life time warranty’s only means for the life of the product vs our whole life time. Every company in the whole world have life time warranty as long as the business is doing well

They just called me. They got my information from a bridal expo that I registered for but did not attend. It is interesting because I think that the bridal fair is in on it because I remember seeing an advertisement that the first 50 people in attendance won free wedding bands. I definitely didn't win for attending.

I was skeptical the whole phone call. I told them that I might show up but I definitely don't think that it is worth it.

@jessnjon2018 ....Did u book those trips?? I just got texted today about attending a 90min cooking show from a polka dot cookwear company, they said it’s no time share and no purchase needed but it does sound too good to be true!! My fiancé doesn’t want to go, but I’m def up for free accommodations. How’d it go with you and your booked trips? Thanks in advance Smiley smile !

I just got a call today with the exact same prize (gift card for 2 wedding bands from Forever More Jewelery, 3 day/2 night stay at Wyndham Resort in Bahamas, Dominican Republic, or Mexico, and a gift card for 2 personalized champagne flutes). I have to claim it at The Courtyard by Marriot with my appointment to sit through an hour and a half presentation. Still debating whether or not it's worth it to even go. She said their website is registriesdirect.net

I didn't go to the expo I signed up for either but I supposedly "won" a prize as well... Kinda odd.

Has anyone successfully booked and went on a trip with the company? I just got a call like this. The more I hear the more I think it is a scam. I hope I am wrong! I would love information from anyone that went on the trip and how the whole experience went.

When did you get your cookware because I've been waiting and I've been trying to call and the number is not in service and I haven't got my cookware

Yeah it is total crap. I went with my fiance, we already had a hunch it was a time share thing. The guy straight out told us he was just going to give us the vouchers for the trips, wedding bands, and flutes. Here is the thing:

The cookware, though nice in appearance, is far too expensive for something I would be using to cook food in (that is my honest opinion) AND if the company was to ever just fall apart, you lose that lifetime warranty you paid for.

The trips are limited to specific time blocks and rooms. You do not get to pick the dates you want or the rooms-its all basic. Its fine if you are looking for a quick getaway, but its still NOT free.

    The flutes are garbage lol

The rings are not appealing to me. They are not in any way feminine. Also... you have to pay shipping costs, which probably equates to the ring cost

Did you register for the gift cards? My family sent gift cards in to help pay for the pots and pans, and I have no idea where this money is going!
