Hi all!

I went to a bridal show a few months ago and registered my name and phone number. I got a call today from a company called NHI International saying I won 2 wedding bands, a 3/day 2/night trip to the Caribbean, and champagne flutes. All I have to do is go to a "bridal expo" at the Holiday Inn in my city.

Has anyone every encountered anything like this? I searched them online and they appear to be a real company, but their website is odd. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

Thanks!

In my opinion any vendor claiming from "said bridal show" whose information I didn't personally request in person because I was interested in something they had to offer, has gotten my information without consent is therefore a scam artist.

I don't care if you are offering me free cookware, a vacation to wherever-the-heck-it-is or my weight in internally flawless diamonds. You have called an unlisted number, without my consent and I will report you to the FCC.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Walk away.

We got beautiful custom champagne flutes, a vacation, and two rings for the hubby.

Sure you have to read the fine print. Nothing is "free". But there are good deals in there!

I didn't get a call but I got a text. Definitely not going to buy anything as we're college students making minimum wage LOL but the discounted vacation does sound very nice! We're going tomorrow and will update y'all how it went

The show was actually pretty cool, we did end up getting the gifts as promised although we didn't buy anything! IMO it's totally worth it to do it. the guy was not pushy at all even though we did stay and ask a lot of questions cause we were interested but ultimately couldn't afford it. He just let us go and handed us our gift without saying anything else!

    UPDATE:

I should have been a little more specific. The gifts we received at the show, were the free wedding bands and a free knife. The trip was supposed to be e-mailed to us after a week or so

It's been like over 2-3 weeks? now. And I still haven't received the e-mail with the trip. I've been continuously texting them, and they've been very good at replying, saying they're working on it, to contact them again after a certain time if I still haven't received it, etc. I wait, nothing happens, contact them and get the same reply. Nothing so far. I just got a text yesterday saying that everyone that attended the show has had the same problem and that they are looking into it.

I am absolutely NOT going to stop until I get this trip since it's the only reason I went in the first place! I will keep updating when something new happens or if it's been a while and nothing has happened.

Sounds like the cookware company was called Kitchen Charm. We went and purchased the cookware (a large expense on our part). it's been totally worth it so far, and we've had it for almost a year.

I'm not a paid reviewer- we went and bought it. I always buy cheap cookware. What sold me specifically is my budget crazy FH turned to me and said it's basically the same cookware his mom has been using for over 30 years. I kept wondering why it looked familiar.

Outside of the handles which seem to be a bit worn and wobbly, the cookware pot she gave us (she had a bigger one from the set we ultimately bought) still works great. They also offered to replace the handles if we wanted to send in the pot and cover the shipping (far too busy with other stuff to do that right now).

Hi, was wondering what was your outcome with the pots and vacation packages. Besides paying for the taxes. Is it legit? Also do you love your pots after two years? No oil needed and cooks food fast?

    Lol at " not actually a scam".... it's definitely 100% a scam!

it's dishonest and a scheme to gain your time and attention.

They are not upfront about the true purpose. They called me also and not 1 time did they mention this "presentation". They told me I just needed to "show up" and claim winnings.

    I didn't because I knew it was a scam.

It is most likely a timeshare seminar that you will be going to. Anytime you "enter to win" things, you will win but there is always a catch. They may have door prizes but the gifts are only "free" when you buy a timeshare. I personally, would not bother but if I didn't get duped before, I would not have known.
