Bridal Shower after Marriage

My husband and I didn't have much money and eloped. Now we're a bit more stable and would like to have a traditional wedding. Would it be ok to have a bridal shower now even though people already know we're married?

    Personally I wouldn’t your already married. People know that, even though it’s not meant to but it would sound more like your looking for more gifts

    No. That is a pretty marriage party. People can give you wedding gifts of anything you might get at a shower.
