Bridal shower and bachelorette party guest list - same people or different?

Nelly, on July 28, 2018 at 2:09 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 10

Hello all!

I have a quick question about the guests list for the parties. Do you typically invite all the same people from your bridal shower to your bachelorette party? My bridal shower is tomorrow, and my bachelorette party will be next month on the 26th, so I would like to get invites out ASAP. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I've heard some people say you shouldn't invite all of the same people to both parties for some reason? Obviously invite your bridal party, but I've heard some people say it can be overwhelming for people to be invited to all of the parties?

And my other concern is that while I don't drink, I wouldn't mind if others did. We will be doing a beach/lunch day, so we will probably bring a bottle of wine/champagne or something light (there is no alcohol at my bridal shower - it's a tea party). There are just a couple of people I worry about getting actually drunk off of it, and I love these girls, but I don't want to end up babysitting, you know? But I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by not inviting them to the bachelorette party.

Let me know what you think, and maybe what your guest lists looked like, if you wouldn't mind!

Thanks all! Have a good day!

My bridal shower is tomorrow also. For my bachelorette party I have no clue what my wedding party is doing. They think it should just be them but I want to invite all my girlfriends who are but in my wedding party and all the cuz I am close too. I am not inviting my aunts or the older ladys in my life. Hope this helps.

My MOH is planning a girls day out. The first part of the day is nails and lunch with MOH, BM, and mom. Then shopping, girls dinner, then out on the town. I’m not a big drinker, but I’m a foodie and I love karaoke lol. I’m keeping it small.

’m attending a bach weekend in Vegas for my Friend. She wants 10 girls to attend, and only had 4 BMs. Only 4 of us are going besides the Bride, 2 being BMs. She’s then having a local one for people who can’t travel. The same 10 are invited to the local one, but it’s travel for almost all of them, and myself, as well. I will not be attending that one.

Not sure where you heard that you must have the same invites for both party. I planned a bridal shower with older family members and I’m (fairly) sure they’re not part of the bachelorette guest list Smiley tongue

I think I was leaning towards mostly the same people and having a bachelorette party with the girls invited to my bridal shower except for my sister, FMIL, and FSIL. I'd like it to be a girlfriend's day, especially because I am moving across country shortly after the wedding!

Thank you for your feedback Smiley smile Hope you have fun

Hi! I think if you like that combination then that is definitely the combination you should have! Nothing feels orw awesome than seeing things that please your eyes on your special day! Is the groom on board with the hues too? If so, dobt hesitate! The hardest part for me will be the balancing on where to put the colors and in what quantity. 💙

This blog here has a great overview of who to invite to a bridal shower, and you can have different people at the Bachelorette Party (I think it touches on that, too!) I just pinned this the other day day, so thought I would share!
