Bridal shower during coronavirus

Abby, on March 21, 2020 at 12:23 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
Hey everyone, our wedding is May 22nd and we were planning on having our shower in April but it will need to be cancelled, due to the virus. We are contemplating having an online party but unsure of how to go about it. I don't want it to be a hassle for everyone. I know that many of my close friends and family will want to be involved in a shower in some way. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

My wedding is May 30th and my bridal shower was supposed to be tomorrow Smiley sad we obviously had to cancel it. I am still not sure what I am going to do, if my wedding can go on at the end of May - which I am losing hope for - I will have my bridal shower on a Friday night as it's the only day the works for my bridesmaids and the venue has available.

If I postpone the wedding, which I am thinking is our best bet but FH is insistent on waiting a few weeks and re-evaluating - I would like to reschedule the wedding for end of July and then will be able to have my sunday brunch shower that was originally planned.

Thinking of you and everyone else in this terrible situation!

Thank you❤️ I know it's terrible! I really want to keep my wedding date but won't know if that's possible for a little while. Just praying everything works out for all us brides.

We had my shower on March 15th. We expected everyone to bail but because we couldn't cancel without losing deposits, we still showed up. Even it it was to box up a crap ton of tea sandwiches lol. We have 30 ladies all together. Thirty! I know people are probably cringing but even my nurse friends showed up. Side note- this was only a few days before they shut down and the CDC started limiting groups to 10 or less. By the skin of our teeth we made it happen. Thank God, because losing our wedding date the day before was enough disappointment for me.

I snuck mine in last weekend before this under 10 people ban started 😫 we have however moved our wedding to august 30th instead of may 9th. But still planning on getting legally married may 9th with just immediate family.

We got lucky that my bridal shower was literally the day that everything was beginning to be shut down (in Texas). Unfortunately, we’re supposed to be having a couples shower for my side of the family/friends on April 18, but I believe that will be canceled shortly. We’re also planning to postpone our wedding from May 23 to November 2020, but still get married with immediate family on our original date. I’m not sure what we’ll do about the April shower though. We’ll probably just have to re-evaluate everything once the summer has past (if we do postpone our wedding).

We have started having virtual dinner parties via video chat. There are a number of video chats that allow for multiple screens, but many of them limit the time unless you pay.

That said, we found it was really nice to just be able to "see" people and chat with them, plus you could still lead many of the games via email/visually!
