bridal shower food

Tramaine, on May 15, 2011 at 5:47 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

My bridal shower is this Saturday May 21 2pm- 5pm. I want to serve appetizers like meat & cheese platter, fruit platter , vegetable platter salad. I want to save money & not over feed my guest. Do you have any food suggestions? It suppose to be hot that day.

With it being from 2-5 you've passed the lunch time and haven't hit dinner yet. So I would say a fruit/veggie tray, a meat and cheese tray, and possibly some cookies or cupcakes would be fine. You don't really need more than that. Most people will eat before coming to the shower.

I disagree about people eating in advance. Most likely they will hold off on lunch because they are coming to a shower from 2-5. I would suggest maybe instead of meat & cheese, have a mini sandwich tray. I would still keep it light. Sandwiches, crudites, some fruit, and maybe a pasta salad.

My bridal show is the same day but it starts at 7 that night and I think my mama is just going to do finger foods like mini sandwiches and stuff. But really its your day so whatever you think would be best.

Mines is the same day, but starts at 5:30 (because I get off of work at 3) and we are going to do meatballs. wings, sandwiches, chips, pasta and some other small stuff. I would strongly suggest sandwiches because it is the perfect finger food. Also, you may want to have someone make them for you because you will get more money out of it by buying the stuff and making it yourself than ordering a platter from subway or something. (cont)

Just get some haiwaiian rolls, cheese, meat and toothpicks. cut the slice cheese into 4 smaller pieces. Take a bottom partroll and put 1-2 slices of meat, add 4th slice of cheese on top of meat and place the top part of the roll and put it together and add a toothpick to keep them in place. It's a little time consuming, but they will be great. Also, if you want to do wings and don't have time to make your own, Super Walmart has a section of variety of flavors (like hot, bbq, sweet habanero, etc.) for a bag around $5-$6 a bag (they are nice size bags... roughly about 20-25 wings in the bag). All you need to do is pop them in the oven and you are done. Hope that helps!
