Bridal shower guest list!

Asia, on March 12, 2021 at 11:12 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 18
Do men go to these? And I’m specifically saying MEN if you catch my drift... I’m getting together a bridal shower guest list and I have no idea where to start.

Typically, the bridal shower guest list includes the women only (friends, aunts, cousins, grandmas, etc), but lately, couples showers have been popular! The guest list for those include both men and women.

Traditionally bridal showers are just for women. However nowadays ive been to bridal showers where the groom was there all day, I've been to ones where the groom showed up at the end and I've also been to a bridal shower with both men and women. I guess it's all up to you.

Usually they are for women, but couple's showers are trending

I’m not really catching your drift, but coed showers are pretty common. You should ask the host(s) if they’re planning for a bridal shower (women only) or a couples shower (coed.)

Hi Asia! My man of Honor/ my brother did come to my bridal shower and my groom arrived at the end with flowers for me, thanked guests and helped load up the car. If the bride has a transgendered guest who identifies as a woman, I would include this guest as well. ❤️

I've personally never been to a co-ed shower before, but I know that they exist!

My mom and MoH (my sister) are throwing me a bridal shower and I'll have one male guest. It is just a bridal shower (not a couples shower and my fiance will not be there), but he is one of my best friends and basically like family to me. If there's a specific guy you want there, I'd say go ahead and invite him if you want.

I've been to a few coed bridal showers before, although they listed them as Jack and Jills, they weren't really...they were fun! I like being able to have a mix vs. just women. You can really do whichever you would like. For me, I have a lot of male friends so we are opting to do a big Jack and Jill for both sides.

Typically bridal showers are women only.
That being said, we're doing a couples shower. So mine is coed

Up to you/the host(s) who you choose to include. Formerly, bridal showers were only women so that other married women could give the bride tips to be a good wife and gifted items to set up her new household. We're going modern and doing a couple's shower so are inviting men. The wedding and marriage is for both of us so to me it only seems right to both be included.

We did co-ed (I'm the kind of person who resented the whole gendering of everything... and, uh, DH does the cooking).

Thus, we invited couples (and even kids, as a few of our friends had Small Humans at the time).

Some of my friends have had mixed gender BPs, but the shower was just for her, so the only men there were the bridesmen.

It's really up to you what you are comfortable with.

I only had women at mine, and I've also never been to a co-ed shower before, but I do think that co-ed showers are becoming more common these days.

I think I am starting to think I am a little more traditional in a sense I guess. A lot of new stuff seems weird to me

Understood Katie. Thanks. Ive been to a few bridal showers and I have never heard the communication that was geared toward marriage. So I am guessing people are wrong. well not wrong but I hope you know what I mean Smiley smile

I think its dependent on the people because my FH and my brother would hear that and be like "well have fun." lol I think im struggling because It seems redundant to me with all of these gatherings. sheesh

Coed showers do exist but many men don't find that environment to be fun.
