Bridal Shower Hostess Gifts?

Tracy, on June 26, 2018 at 1:31 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5

Having a hard time thinking of hostess gifts for my bridal shower this weekend! My MOH, 2 sisters and Mom are hosting it. My mom is paying for pretty much everything and asked the girls to put together games and decorations. We tend to go over the top with gifts for events and things but I don't think I have ever gotten a hostess gift for sisters or best friend or mom. We are very close and see each other all the time and rotate having dinners at each others houses. Normally we tend to do that for people we don't know well.

So with that being said, I already got my MOH & sisters candles. Was thinking of adding a bottle of champagne or wine (to each their preference). And then adding a Total Wine or Nordstroms gift card $25 or $50? My mom doesn't really like candles or wine/champagne so would just do the gift card?

Or is that too much? Too little? We had my bachelorette party a couple weeks ago and they spent so much, I feel like a $50 gift card is almost a slap in the face. Thoughts????

Hostess gifts are generally token gifts, not something you would give at Christmas or for their birthday. They are also not meant to repay them for the money they spent on you.

For the MOH and sisters, the candles are enough. You could add the wine if you want. I think a gift card on op of that would be OOT. For your Mom, a gift card and a cards with your loving thoughts of appreciation will be the most meaningful.

I got candles for the hostesses of my showers and I wrote them each a card to thank them for their generosity. Muriel is right, it is not to repay them so it don't need to be a large gift.

I got nice ($15-$20) wine/champagne for my FHs Aunts that hosted our shower. Then I put these little tags I got from zazzle on them that say "A toast for the Host, Love X & Y"

A gift basket is always fun! So with the candles maybe the wine bottle and a bottle opener? Or crackers & cheese?
