Bridal Shower Location

Sarah, on October 12, 2019 at 11:34 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 3

My best friends is now getting married! I want to throw her an amazing shower (I'm the maid of honor). Any suggestions of places we can host it? I am planning to use a bunch of my wedding decorations (linens, center pieces, cake stand, backdrop, etc) which the bride knows and very much approves of. I also have access to free tables and chairs if needed.

Because I have all of the decor, I am looking for a place that is more of a blank canvas (so staying away from restaurants/golf clubs). Ideally, I would love for it to be on a farm, but it will be mid April in the Chicago suburbs and I'm finding that most farm/barn places don't open until mid May. Does anyone have any suggestions of places we can rent that aren't...ugly looking? The bride is Muslim so unfortunately no churches, wineries, or breweries are an option. I'm putting the budget on the rental around $500ish because we still have to get food and other miscellaneous expenses. Thank you!

There will be around 30 people there...I live over an hour away from where we'll be hosting it so my place is unavailable (and too small anyways!).

I’d look into community centers, or if someone lives in the area that has a club house in their neighborhood.

Hey Lauren! Congratulations on being asked to MOH at your friends wedding. Also, congratulations on your own marriage!

Since you have ruled out restaurants and golf clubs, I definitely think that community centers would be a great place to start as they will come relatively empty and allow you to decorate however you want.

You could also look into renting an Airbnb that allows guests to hold events on the property. Since your guest count will be around 30 people, you could look into places that could hold that many people, perhaps even with a garden!

Hmm... maybe some sort of hall? You might be able to find a catering venue as well. I know there's one near me. They have a hall space they rent out, but you can just use them for catering somewhere else as well. Did you search on here? There might be a trendy space near you that's available! A community center is definitely a great idea and i didn't even think about an Air bnb.
