Bridal Shower - perveted gifts?

LOL!! I wouldnt call what I got "perverted" but i did get some overly sexy stuff. I did not have a registry for my shower so I cant complain at what I got. I have to say I loved the gifts tho!

I saw someone give a thing at church shower to be funny. It didn't go over well. The girl who brought it didn't know the bride that well. The girls mother was absolutely horrified.

My rule of thumb:

Bridal Showers - (typically means elders like moms and grandmas will attend) No overly sexual gifts; lingerie is okay.

Bachelorette party - sexy gifts are great!

However, for my own, I'm just doing a bachelorette night w/close friends and families that I often hang out with. Instead of a registry, I'm opting for each guest to bring a sexual/non-sexual gift (i.e. makeup) to do a gift exchange w/each other. It's different and a bit odd, but I know my girls and I'll have so much fun doing it!

Out of aall the gifts I received at my bridal shower, my cousin's wife (who is a preacher's wife) bought me some lingere. I thought it was weird at first, being that everyone's gift was something for the house, by the way I did have a registry. My mom thought it was fine, she said don't you wear those anyways....I wwas like WOW, but all in all, I liked it but not for a shower with my family.

I have never seen anything quite as risqué as a vibrator, but I have been to several showers where there are 1 or 2 kinky off registry gifts. In my family, there is always an aunt, or even my mom, that will sneak in a gift that isn't labeled where it is from. My mom did this for my SIL's shower. She showed me the lingerie before wrapping it and I told her that it wasn't really that kinky - it was just a pair of lace bikini panties.

For one of my life long friends, I gave her massage oil (along with towels from her registry). It was from VS and was in a clear bottle with kinky dice in it. At first she was mortified, but everyone for a kick out of it and it really added entertainment to the gift opening.

I would've been mortified if I even got lingerie at my bridal shower, both of FH's grandmas were there. Gross. That's for the bachelorette IMO.

My mom would be the one to give me those gifts lol

I can certainly see those kind of things at a bachelorette party, but at a bridal shower I can't really see it my aunts and stuff will there ewww.

Everyone i know would totally do that, they know if i were to go to theirs i'd do the same thing. This post actually reminds me of the "How I Met your Mother" episode where Robin gets Lily a vibrator and all the guests are much older so she tries to switch the from tag with the grandmothers gift. Love that show

Oh my goodness! Those are usually saved for the bachelorette party... the thank you note is a tough one haha!

I would send a gag thank you, thank her for getting a massager, tell her that you've had this kink in your neck that you were thinking about seeing a masseuse about anyway lol

I have never been to a bridal shower where people got perverted gifts. Lol. Except for maybe some lingerie but I have never seen anything nasty! Usually you will receive gifts from your registry!!

Yes those kinky stuff actually exist. Erotic cakes, FakeAbaby items and edible undies. I haven't seen or heard one that involved a vibrator though. I prefer to have a bachelorette party than a bridal shower.
