Bridal shower registry and wedding registry?

Shantay, on February 28, 2021 at 8:13 AM Posted in Registry 0 11
Hi, just curious. Are there suppose to be two registries, one for the shower and one for the wedding? Or just one?

You can use the same one for both the shower and the wedding.

I’m actually curious about this as well. I THINK they’re the same, unless you want something that’s more of a gift for you than for your FH (lingerie, or other personal gifts that you wouldn’t want your entire wedding guest list to see). Don’t quote me on this though because I definitely am no expert

I've only ever heard of 1 for both.

Totally agree with everyone- just 1 registry.

Just 1 registry. Not everyone will attend the shower and many guests do not give cash.

I have never heard of anyone having separate registries for the bridal shower and wedding. Usually it's just one registry used for both

One registry. After your shower you can add to the registry as needed to freshen it up and give people new options. It's a living thing. Be sure to have things at lots of different price points. We have a couple of "big ticket" items ($200+), and a handful of "expensive but not crazy expensive" ($100-200). Beyond that, the majority of the stuff falls in the $25-75 range.

Registries are weird because like... I don't want to buy you a trash can? But when I was making my own I was like "ohhhh I love that trash can and matching toilet paper box thing from Crate & Barrel I hope someone buys it!" Lol

Just one, apparently! My friend circles have always given more "personal" gifts for bridal showers, such as lingerie or personalized mugs or super fluffy slippers that say "Mrs" on them. That said, I've never actually been to a bridal shower where the gifts come from a registry. It's all been stuff that you think the bride would like or would be fun for a new marriage but not necessarily a thing you'd put on a registry. My mom and sister are hosting my bridal shower and gave me an invite to save for my scrapbook. At the bottom they wrote a note that says, "For registry information, please visit TheKnot.com." That was a new thing for me, but definitely nice!

One registry for both. Make sure you have items in a wide range of prices from $5+. Upgrade linens and household items and register for fun stuff too.

Cash, gift cards and honeymoons are often considered not appropriate items to register for in many circles and per etiquette.
