Bridal Shower Registry vs. Wedding Registry

Tiffani, on April 29, 2019 at 2:22 PM Posted in Registry 0 11
Are these two the same? Should I have a separate registry for myself/bridal shower or use the same registry for bridal shower and wedding?

Personally, I like the idea of a separate registry for the bridal shower (I could put cute pajama sets, robes, slippers etc). But, I’m not sure is that’s weird or will go against etiquette.

I believe they are the same thing. Some people just have a bridal shower (all women) instead of a wedding shower (co-ed). I didn't register for anything that was just for me personally. I think most people will buy "couples gifts" or things that both people can use. My mom got me a robe and a little nightie at my bridal shower, but the rest of the items were all for both of us.
Most people will bring a gift card/cash to the actual wedding and not a large gift. There may be some who bring gifts, but most of the gifts are given at a bridal/wedding shower.

A bridal shower is for receiving wedding gifts. Most of the time I see physical gifts only given at the shower and monetary gifts in a card given at the wedding but this varies depending on region and social circle. I’ve also been to several lingerie showers but those are separate events.

We used the same registry for both my shower and our wedding and that seems to be the norm. I didn't register for anything specifically for me so we only go household gifts for the both of us.

Everyone I've seen they're the same thing (unless you're having something like a lingerie bridal shower).

They’re the same. Additionally they should still all be gifts for you BOTH. It’s a wedding event, not a birthday, so things like PJs and slippers aren’t really appropriate anyhow. Sure lingerie is a popular gift for the bride, but bear in mind, that’s intended for you both to enjoy! Smiley winking

    They are the same.
If you wanted to put together a wish list on a site and mention it to your bridesmaids and they spread the word for your bachlorette party, that might be a little better.
