Is it appropriate to make a separate registry for my bridal shower..??? From what I’ve been told these are items that are supposed to be specifically for me. Tbh our wedding registry doesn’t have too much on it anyway since we’ve been together for 13 years. I know bridal showers are known for giving the bride lingerie but I’m a little embarrassed cuz I’m a larger size than most. You can’t find cute lingerie for me at target. I found a website called MyRegistry and you can link items you want from other websites. So I would be able to put things from Torrid for example. Would it be ok to register for some lingerie and personal items for just the bridal shower? That way there’s no awkwardness about what size I wear or what should be given as a gift. Any input/advice would be great! Thanks in advance!

Unless you are specifically having a lingerie shower (which I had honestly never heard of until coming on here), the wedding registry and bridal shower registry are the same thing. I've only ever been to showers (including my own) that were household item based. However, theme showers such as lingerie showers or recipe showers do exist. I would speak to whoever if throwing you the shower and confirm if they are planning a themed one. You can also decline a lingerie shower. To me, just thinking about opening up lingerie in front of my mother in law or my husband's grandmother just seems so awkward lol. But to each their own.

I've never heard of a bridal shower having a different registry than the wedding.

I actually had a separate registry for my shower. Reasoning is because I only had a honeymoon fund for my wedding registry and so my friends just kept asking about what I'd like for my shower and I decided it kind of made more sense for me to have a separate one for the shower.

That’s sorta my issue too. We have lived together for 11 of the 13 years we’ve been together. There’s nothing we really need which is why we did a honeymoon fund as well and threw in a few little things for the guests that prefer to bring an actual gift instead of giving money.
