Bridal Shower Registry

Sam, on April 8, 2021 at 2:28 PM Posted in Registry 1 11
Hi everyone!

I’m looking for some registry items that are a must have or something you received that you absolutely love! My fiancé and I live in a apartment so we don’t have room for a lot and or need a lot. We are looking into realistic items or items that we will actually use aka a lot of storage items but was curious if you received very a gift that you are just so happy with!

So my maid of honor bought me an air fryer which I didn’t think I’d use. She was right. I was wrong. I love that thing so much.

My husband and I live in a very small house, and I lived on my own for many years before we married, so the things we registered for were practical. We registered for a fireproof safe for important documents and a paper shredder, two items that we get a lot of use out of. We also upgraded all of our plates, towels, and linens so everything matches and is of higher quality. We got a new Vitamix blender, a soundbar for the TV, and a luggage set. Basically, anything I found myself wishing I had at some point during the engagement (and that I would realistically use in the house) I put on the registry. If I didn't need it, it wasn't there, so our registry was pretty small by most standards.

I think the item that we use most is our le creuset dutch oven. Several guests went in on the gift together (it was the most expensive item on our registry). We use it at least once a week! We also registered for a new set of luggage because our suitcases were old and falling apart. The luggage has also been quite useful. We only had one registry that we used for both the shower and the wedding

A high quality vacuum cleaner makes a huge difference if you have pets and/or allergies. My FH wasn't able to wait until the wedding to put it on the registry and just got one for his birthday.

Luggage. We both had had sets plus pieces. But most ly wore the smaller under seat and under about 25 lbs packed ones to death. Twice each since getting out of school age to fly on our own. So we had the nice luggage, reinforced wheels expensive single largest pieces they make, and 4 makeup boxes that could not fit in bins. I mist have been complaining 2 weeks before waiting a year for Southwestern to produce a 100 pound 3 footer. Two weeks later at a surprise shower, instead of a set, but high quality stuff, friend went to a big store clearance center and got good ( cheap) prices Not cheap luggage. 3 friends gave me 9 assorted matching smaller and medium, and a wheeled little dollyou can bungee backpacks or camping equipment to to get through an airport. 15 years later, always the right size , no overpacking fees, not a broken handle or wheel, polish up to looking new. Never put on registry.
I had multiple small showers and a few groups not attending, they went a little offbeat for showers. 2 large take on picnics, umbrella size folded up, hammocks for 2, and 3 small camping hammocks, the 3rd for hanging things out of bear range. Cords of wood ( fireplaces.) Guide books to New England mountains and trails, and a collection of National park and monument ones. The compact hand size. Those are expensive, and I think 30 of 34 were used. 2 sets opera glasses size little binoculars. 2 decorative chains with loops , each of which takes 3-4 hanging plants. A folding 6 sided table for poker or any larger number card game, with felts. 2 six foot folding tables, store under bed. 12 cloth fold up directors chairs. 2 different current DVD players. Girt certificate for a framing place. Choir gave us 10 thick pile gorgeous huge bath sheets . Assorted storage goodies including 2 3-4 shelf closet maid things that go over closet ot bathroom doors, hold bottles and cans of things, one a 4 shelf shoe rack, last holds accessories. Wall mirror ful body and 6 big s hooks ( square S) that go over door tops. Suit bags and dress bags for travel. Zip mattress covers.

Our Dyson fan/air purifier has been amazing! We got a few Le Creuset pieces (including a Dutch oven) that have definitely proven to be more useful than I originally thought they would be!

We are also in a tiny apartment. Favorites so far: Butter crock, a good quality cutting board, new sharp knife block, new steak knives, nice sheets, new pillows, glass food storage containers

We have lived together for a few years in an apartment and eventually will move into a house and I’m putting everything I would want for the house on the registry and we will just keep things in storage until then. I know some people will see that as impractical but that’s what I grew up know a registry was for! and everything on our registry is something I could use in the apartment too at different times like if we were to host a party or get together.
