Bridal Shower Registry

Stephanie, on March 26, 2019 at 2:33 PM Posted in Registry 0 11

My fiancé and I have been living together for 5 years, we went from apartment to town home to house. We have pretty much everything we could need/want for our home. So what are we supposed to put on a registry? We put on our wedding website we don't need gifts or that people could help with our honeymoon fund. However, my mom is very insistent on having a registry for a bridal party my aunts want to throw. I did register at three different places but it's hard to choose things because don't really NEED anything. Any and all suggestions are great!

I would only register for what you need/want after that people will probably just give gift cards and cash.

That's one of my problems, I'm a kitchen fanatic so I've already upgraded to everything I could want. I have a great blender, stand mixer, 4 slice toaster. We don't drink a ton of coffee. The only thing I thought could use upgrading is our food storage containers, which I did add to one of the lists. Smiley atonished

You really don't think you guys need anything? No upgrades to kitchen items? No nice sheets or towels or pillows? Cook books? Board games?

Nope - We use pinterest for recipes and when we find one we have a custom cook book we add to that's like a scrap book, we have tons of games because we do game nights with our friends, our bathroom is color coordinated, and we have plenty of sheets (I always find amazing deals and buy one or two of anything extra I need). I find a lot of home decor stuff at TJMaxx or Hobby Lobby so our home is pretty well decorated, and the only things I can think that we need are expensive and our family doesn't have a ton of money.

Many places will let you make things group gifts so that multiple people can pitch in on expensive items.

We don’t need much for our home, so we registered for things like camping gear, nicer bath towels, a new vacuum, a shredder, a larger safe, board games, etc.

I did put sleeping bags on one of the registries since we are planning to road trip for our honeymoon and have really old ones. Otherwise we do a decent amount of camping, but maybe I can look into "extras" that we wouldn't normally get ourselves. Thanks!

I would just keep the registry simple with things you actually need/want. We live together, with our kids, so we don't really need any household things but wanted some upgrades. We also really wanted to build our camping gear up. Therefore, we registered for mostly camping gear & upgrades.

We ran into the same issue. We live together and bought a house 2 years ago. We did add some upgraded items for our kitchen. But also put things that we need and just never go out and get. We put 2 new comforter sets on there for our bed and our guest bedroom. We put new curtains and curtain rods on there. A robot vacuum (people can split higher priced items if someone does not want to pay for it alone). I was dreading my registry and ended up having a lot of fun with it because I ended up going very non-traditional and literally asked for whatever I wanted and not was people typically ask for. We also set up a "Honeymoon Fund".
