Bridal Shower Registry??

Chloe, on April 20, 2021 at 6:26 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
I need help, what do you ask for when it comes to bridal shower gifts??

My fiancé and I are doing a honeymoon fund for the actual wedding in place of a registry. Would it be weird to create one for my Bridal Shower, or how do guests know what to get? If I did create a registry, do I put stuff on there only for me like lingerie, or stuff for the both of us?

We did lots and lots of kitchen stuff. We have a home already but a lot of our stuff is starting to fall apart from age so we decided to replace the coffee maker and baking sheets and things like that. We are also only doing a honeymoon fund for the wedding and I wasn’t planning on a shower but my aunt insisted so we just started at a couple of places and went from there. I don’t think many people do the lingerie anymore but if you need it I don’t see why not! As long as your ok with opening that kind of gift in front of your family

The registry is for both of you to get your home started. Bed Bath and Beyond has a registry checklist on their site to get you started. It is mentioned to guests by word of mouth when they ask or on your wedding website. Never anywhere on your invitations.

Lingerie, etc is separate and often purchased by bridesmaids.

A registry is for both of you! We did stuff for kitchen, living room, new bedspread and sheets, and decor items. We also added a few gift cards, like Target, airfare, Home Depot, and Disney.

If you don’t want to do a registry, one of my girlfriends did a lingerie shower instead of a bridal shower. Her and her now hubs already lived together and were established, so she didn’t want typical registry stuff. We did all the “typical” bridal shower stuff (food, games, drinks, etc.), but then all gifts were lingerie outfits and like VS gift cards!

My fiancé and I are thinking about doing a home down payment fund for our wedding and a small registry for my bridal shower! Sheets, towels, some kitchen items. If you google it, Amazon has a list. Very small, since most of the registry will be our going towards our first down payment!

We are doing a honeymoon fund as well and a gift registry of 26 items for the guests that would like to give us a physical item. For the registry, I added bathroom, kitchen and living room things. For example, I put vaccums, a dish rack, coasters, plates, glasses, towels, cooking appliances...etc.
