Bridal shower this year or next?

Rose, on May 19, 2020 at 8:19 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

We’ve decided to still get married this year with a private ceremony, and then do a ceremony and reception next year with our friends and family due to COVID-19. I am still wanting to do the bridal shower, but am trying to decide if I should do it this year or next year. We are as of now allowed to have gatherings of 25 people and my shower would be held June 6th. I think my family would understand either way with what’s going on. I just really want the whole experience.

I would do it this year if you want. 25 ppl is a good crowd to have for a bridal shower.

I would not do a shower this summer. Too risky for guests. I vote for next year.

I would wait too. it sounds like in terms of your schedule you've got time to wait for that.

Is someone offering to throw this for you?

I'd agree with PPs--I think you should at least wait a month or two in order to make a more informed decision on suggesting dates.

25 is a good crowd for a bridal shower, but I agree with those who say wait. You've got lots of time, and if you wait a little, you'll know how safe a small gathering could be.

I would recommend an outdoor one, though, just to be on the safe side, if that's an option at all.

Hi Rose! I'd definitely reach out to your guests as well and gauge their comfort level. Would they feel safe attending? Would they be uncomfortable?

Realistically there will probably still be some form of social distancing guidelines in place, so I'd think through some ways that you can adapt the celebration or postpone a little while longer!
