Bridal Shower Venue Help in Connecticut!

Maria, on April 9, 2018 at 6:51 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 12

Hi everyone,

I would love suggestions for an outdoor venue for my bridal shower....I am looking for a place where I can bring in my own food. Please and thank you!!! I live in CT in the New Haven area..but distance really isn't an issue at the moment.

What do you mean by bring your own food? Outside catering? That is probably possible to find.

Food you prepare? That will be really difficult if not impossible. Perhaps a public park.

Yes I actually have a chef I am using to cater for me...I was thinking of a park yes I guess that would be easiest! I was hoping for a vineyard but unfortunately the one by me doesn’t allow groups of more than 20

My shower is at my wedding venue in another room (historic venue), and the ladies have hired a brunch chef. Maybe something like that? A community center with nice outdoor space?

My CT shower is at a town (or maybe state?) park! Almost every big park in the state INCLUDING BEACHES has a pavilion you can rent for like $200 and many also have bathrooms and electricity. Smiley smile

We're bringing our own food too--apps on platters and in crockpots, salads, and we rented a big propane grill from the park for I think $50 so we can toss kabobs on there.

There's a vineyard in Wallingford called Gouveia that is actually pretty big. They might be able to accommodate more than 20 if you want the vineyard route.

Thank you! I actually looked in to Hammonassett Beach today and saw it’s only $220 to rent a picnic shelter which isn’t bad at all..my only concern is that this year CT residents can park free which means if park reaches max capacity they won’t let anyone else in. I’m hoping that because I want to do end of June that it won’t be as crazy as if I did middle of summer and also do it earlier in day. What you guys are doing is exactly what I want to do.

Yes Kelly this was my first choice because it’s beautiful and down the road from me but because they “don’t host” events they don’t allow groups of more than 20

Oooh man wish I still lived in the state to take advantage of that free parking lol. I get your concern--it's exactly why we decided to skip the Hamonasset one Smiley sad I think if you have guests arrive at 11 there would probably be parking, if I recall the beaches do t usually fill up until around 1?

If you want a park I would look into it RIGHT NOW...my dad booked ours for us in early March and said almost every weekend was already booked for the summer at the particular one we chose (Northwest in Manchester). Good luck in whatever you choose!!!

(Oh oh also check Elizabeth park in Hartford if distance really isn't an issue! Roses, roses everywhere...)

I know it’s like finally after paying all these years!! Haha ... that’s what I was thinking maybe arriving 1030/11 should be ok...and I also figured end of June weather isn’t going to be crazy hot so it shouldn’t get super crowded that early anyway. Luckily June is pretty open right now so if we choose here we’ll book very soon...I am looking up a few other options people mentioned as well though. Thank you for your help and good luck to you too!

Here's a link to all CT vineyards. This should be a good starting point for websites and phone numbers.
