Is a bridal shower at a restaurant in a private area still nice for a bridal shower?

Yes, that’s fine. You’re in a private are so you won’t be disturbing other guests at the restaurant (with things like music and games).

I think that's totally fine. My bridal shower was at a restaurant. It was a small restaurant so they rented the entire thing for the shower.

Love that idea, you don’t have to worry about the food being late/cold. It seems like a fun atmosphere! Also, many hotels have great meeting spaces for relatively inexpensive rates. That’s an alternative in case you’re looking for one Smiley smile

That is exactly what we did for daughter's bridal shower. It was lovely and exactly what she wanted. As long as you can find a restaurant who can set aside the amount of time you need and is willing to provide good service, it can be great. The restaurant where I had daughter's usually has a 2 hour time limit on an event in the private room with an additional half hour for set up, but would allow more time if they didn't have another booking. I specifically booked the shower for a Sunday, 11:30-1:30. That would mean if someone wanted to book an event earlier, they'd have to be out NO later than 10:30 (to give the staff time to clean up before the room was available to me at 11 for set-up), and they wouldn't book anything following us until at least 2:30. I took a gamble that not many people would book an event for 8:30 am or 3:00 pm, and I "won" that bet. Nothing else was booked until late afternoon, so we were able to start setting up at 10:30 and didn't have to be done until well after 2. We chose a limited lunch menu of 3-4 items, so the meal went pretty smoothly/quickly, and with 25 guests they were able to set us all up at one long table so it was easy to play games, etc. We did have to be super organized so set-up and packing everything up at the end could each be completed in about a 30-45 minute window. It worked out great, but the restaurant was very cooperative. Good luck!

We’ve decided to schedule my shower at a restaurant. My mom originally wanted to have it at a smaller room of the wedding venue. The cost for rental and a brunch buffet was close to $3,000 for 50 guests, not including any decor, etc. I was not comfortable with that much being spent for the shower and looked into other options. I really like the Italian restaurant Bravo! and decided to book their party room instead. The room itself was free, and the food for approximately 30-35 people is under $1,000.

*I know the shower is thrown by family, wedding party, etc., but they wanted my help and input! LOL

My MOH is planning my bridal shower at a little coffee shop. I think if you find something that fits your aesthetic and doesn’t break the bank, then go for it.
I’ve seen all kinds of venues for showers. Just go with what works best for you!

Definitely! And the food is fresh and yummy usually versus just simple snacks we always seem to end up with at home.

A party held anywhere with your closest friends/relatives is good. I wouldn't worry.

They're right, you shouldn't be planning your own shower. It's a party thrown for you, not by you. If they ask you for your input then you can give it, but otherwise you should let the hosts (hosts = whoever offers to host a shower for you) make the decisions.

Yep! That’s what I’m doing. A lot of restaurants have great private areas.

They are right, you should not be planning a party with yourself as guest of honor. And the fact that they brought it up means they likely resent it. So take the hint, and nicely back off. You plan your wedding, without interference or unsolicited opi ions. And let your part hostesses plan their party, with no input except when they ask for it.
