So we don’t know who should plan a bridal shower. I’m an only child. My maid of honor lives in FL, I’m in IN. She’s planning my bachelorette party from there. But not sure if my mom should plan my party. Also where would most people have it? No church or “country club” type place. Thank you

Bridal showers can be planned by anyone. It would be perfectly acceptable for your mother to plan, if she would like to take up that responsibility.
You are also welcome to host it anywhere. If you want something catered, you can have it in a private room at a restaurant. My best friend's shower was at her mother's house and they just made sandwich platters themselves. You, or your party host, is not obligated to pay for a country club or other event space.

Usually someone will offer to host it and they will decide where to have it. I was MOH in my brother's wedding and I planned the bridal shower and my mom and grandmother helped with buying food. For my shower, my mom and sister-in-law co-hosted and some of the other bridesmaids pitched in with things. My sister-in-law's was at her church and mine was at restaurant. One of my friend's had hers at her parents' house.

Your mom can host it. Usually it’s for local people on the guest list. Often they are at the hostess’s home. The menu is often appetizers and desserts from Costco.

Anyone who wants to can host/plan your bridal shower. It can be done at the hosts home, a restaurant with rentable space, anywhere really.
