Is it okay if someone other than my maid of honor throws me a bridal shower? My MOH asked if I wanted one a few months ago and I said it was up to her and so she decided not to while my bridesmaids were questioning it. My other Male friend who is going to be a groomsman said he wants to throw one with his mom. Is that ok? She hasnt been really supportive or helped with anything really and just found out her and a girl that dropped out of bridal party were talking about me and FH behind my back. I hate drama but idk! I kinda wanted a bridal party but didn't want to straight up ask for one

    I don’t see a problem with him throwing the bridal shower. If she decided not to do it after asking you, and he stepped up & volunteered to have one for you, she can’t really say anything. Based on what you wrote, it seems like she really wasn’t into planning it anyway. Ignore the drama & have fun!

    It does not matter who throws it I do not think. One of my friend's mother's threw it. From what I hear about etiquette is that you cannot throw your own. You can let them and ask the MOH if she wants to be involved and help with the planning.

    Anyone can throw you a shower if they want to. My mom and one of my bridesmaids hosted mine.

    Anybody can throw you a shower! I've been to showers thrown by aunts, friends who aren't even in the bridal party etc.
