Bridal Shower

When should you have bridal shower? My sister thinks it should be after the bachelorette. I’m having my bachelorette a month before the wedding. I think it should be before the bachelorette so we everything isn’t so close together maybe it’s less stress I’m not sure.

I suggest before the bachelorette. You don’t want the wedding and bridal shower so close together because that’s more money for guests to spend in a shorter time period.

I'm having my bachelorette one week prior to my shower. It just how it works out with schedules. Normally I wouldn't suggest them two weekends in a row for guests. However, only my mom, cousin, and MOH are on both lists. My shower is on the other side of the state with aunts, family friends, and cousins. My bachelorette party is near me with local friends and only mom and cousin need to travel 2.5 hours.

My bridal shower was 2 months before my wedding & my bachelorette party was 3 weeks after that. Get everything out of the way. Less stress & more focus on the day.

Hey Amarine! There is certainly no exact time when you much have your shower, but they are generally thrown about two months before your wedding.

As the pp's mentioned, I would try to avoid planning both events really close together as it will make for an expensive time for those invited to both.

The timing of the bridal shower has nothing to do with the timing of the bachelorette. I wouldn't have two pre-wedding events within a month of the wedding. People can't reserve three weekends in one month for your wedding events.

I think my bridal shower will be about 2 or 3 months before the wedding. I'm not sure if I'll have a bachelorette party, but I would have that closer to a month or so before the wedding, maybe the same time RSVP's are due Smiley xd

I had my bridal shower first and a month before the wedding. I always think of a bachelorette party being the "last single night" and closer to the actual wedding.

My MIL is throwing a "wedding shower" 3 months before the wedding. Mostly because FH is stationed in Montana and we're in Texas so she really wants him to be here. Initially, she wanted to throw me a bridal shower a month before the wedding.

I had my Bridal shower a month before the wedding and then my party is this Friday which makes it two weeks before the wedding.

I’m getting married in April and my bridal shower is set for January and bachelorette is end of February, like someone mentioned above- you don’t want to have everything so close to together due to money.

I'm getting married in May. They are throwing my bridal party the last weekend in Feb/first week of march. And we are going to Vegas for the bachelorette party at the end of March.

My wedding was July 20. I had no involvement in planning either event, but my bridal party had my bachelorette June 28-29 and bridal shower the 30th. They did this because 2 of the 4 are out of state so they traveled for 1 weekend. The bachelorette party was only the bridal party and myself.

I don't think it matters. My shower was 2 weeks after my bachelorette, but both were 2 months before our wedding.
