Bridal shower

Cassandra, on October 18, 2020 at 9:58 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7
So my bridal party is putting together a bridal shower for me! I was wondering do I invite aunts and uncles who live in Pennsylvania to it? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

It is conpletely up to you. The general ettiquite rule is to not invite anyone that you won't be inviting to the wedding.

Not a stupid question at all! As long as they are invited to your wedding you can certainly invite him. However, consider mentioning that there is no pressure for them to come if the distance is far. Make sure they know that you would love their presence but, you understand if they can't make the trip twice in a short period of time.

Showers are a much less important party than the wedding, and except bride and MOB, rarely do people travel longer to and from the party than the 2.5-3.5 hours it will last. How long would it take them, and would there be any cost involved? The shower is a smaller party of people who gather to see the bride open a second gift given in addition to the wedding gift. The aunt may be close enough in relationship to want to give that extra gift for the home. But see no sense in spending hours and hours of travel, or $250 for gas, motel, and food, to deliver a $50-$100 gift, at a 3 hour party.
