Someone usually throws you a shower. My sisters and mom are talking about having it the sunday before my wedding since my sister is moving out of state. But I've been to showers a month before the wedding to like 7 months before the wedding. Yes you get gifts and anyone you want is invited that you are inviting to the wedding!

Someone else hosts a shower for you, it’s extremely rude to throw one for yourself. They’re typically 1-3 months before the wedding, but it depends on everyone’s availability. Ours was 34 days before our wedding. There are tons of bridal shower games on Pinterest. Showers are gift giving events.

My mom and bridal party Are throwing mine. Mine will be about 3 months out. I have out of state bridesmaids and we are trying to keep them from having to travel so close together.

    Hey there, Jada!

A bridal shower is typically thrown about two months before the wedding, however, this isn’t a set rule!

My mom and sisters (MOH's) are planning my bridal shower for January 11th, so about a month and a half before the wedding. Most of the women invited to the wedding are invited to the bridal shower, aside from some distant relatives and a few past coworkers that I'm just not super close to and wouldn't feel comfortable inviting them to a gift giving event. I have no idea what kind of games (if any) they plan on having, but I'm almost positive I'll receive gifts (my cousin had a bridal shower last year and she received lots). Hope this helps!

P.S. Just a side note, make sure that anyone on the bridal shower guest list is also invited to the wedding. It's considered poor manners if you invite someone to a bridal shower but don't invite them to the wedding Smiley smile

My mother hosted my bridal shower at her home, 2 months before our wedding. She invited all the bridesmaids, my husband's mother & stepmother, then all the women invited to the wedding in the local area up to 4 hours away driving. She invited 50, about 30 came. Everyone brought gifts, which I opened at the shower, and we played two games (both were "guess what the bride said" type games were you fill them out). She had a full lunch spread and a favor station where people made their own olive oil with other flavors, then some cards people can fill out (advice for the couple, date ideas, etc). The whole event lasted around 3 hours.
