Bridal suite

I will be getting my hair and makeup done at a hotel down the street from our venue. About three hours before the ceremony we’ll leave for the venue were I’ll get dressed in their bridal suite.

For my sister's wedding (I was in the wedding party), we got ready at the hotel before the ceremony, then took a limo to the ceremony location, which was around a 15 minute drive. The limo picked up the groom and the groomsmen first, and then came back for my sister and the bridesmaids. It worked out OK, though the only issue was that the limo was driving everyone around rush hour in a major city, so we ended up falling behind schedule due to traffic. If you are considering a similar route, be sure to build in plenty of extra time to get from the getting ready location to the venue.

When I was the MOH in my best friend’s wedding, she and I stayed in a hotel room the night before and then the rest of the BMs met us in the room the follow morning for hair and makeup. Then we all drove to the ceremony location.

My husband got ready at his parent’s house & I, my sister (MOH) & my daughter (bridesmaid) got ready at my parent’s house. My other bridesmaid finished getting ready at the venue. I changed into my dress at the venue & my makeup artist was able to do the final touch ups to everyone there too.

We’re gonna get ready at our hotel

The girls are going to be getting ready at our house and my FH and the guys will be getting ready at his parents house. Both are about 40 minutes from our venue so the plan is to be at the venue by 2:30 for our 5 pm ceremony - doing first look and almost all pictures beforehand.

We considered hotel rooms, but the hotels near our venue don't have two room suites and I didn't want everyone to be on top of each other getting ready in a small room. Our house has plenty of space and good lighting for hair/makeup/getting ready pics and lots of seating for the girls. Plus three bathrooms and the kitchen for snacks/meals.

My girls and I are getting ready at my mom's condo. She has a beautiful area in her bedroom with a half wall mirror, great lighting and a huge counter space that we are going to use for hair and/or makeup. Then we are all going to get dressed there and head to the venue for some pictures about 2 hours before (that's when we're allowed into the bridal suite), and we are just going to hang out, have some drinks and snacks until the ceremony starts. I was thinking I should put my dress on at the venue, but logistically it works better if I'm already in my dress when we get there so we can jump right into some photos.

For the weddings I was a part of as a bridesmaid, we all got ready in a hotel room. Usually in one of the big suites. For most of the weddings they were in the same area so we just had to walk down to the ceremony and reception area. There was one wedding, however, where they ceremony was in a church. So, the couple had ordered a shuttle service for their guests to get to and from the church and then back to the main venue. I will be getting ready at my parents house since my FH and I are planning on either eloping or doing a microwedding.

We're going to start getting ready at my brideman's apartment then head to my bridal suite at the venue some hours later to finish.

We got ready at my mom's house, which was like 10 mins away from the wedding venue. DH and his dad (who was also his best man) got ready at our house, and his groomsmen got ready at their own homes.
