Bride aisle music

Katrina, on July 20, 2021 at 10:41 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
I am having trouble deciding what to walk down the aisle to. I wasn’t going to go with traditional wedding bridal chorus because we aren’t religious and are not having our ceremony in a church and that song reminds me of a church but also feel like it’s what we grew up hearing people get married to and I should do it. Are people still using it or are people resorting more to modern music to walk down the aisle to?

Many brides use modern music with lyrics. Pinterest has lists as well as YouTube. Vitamin String Quartet has classical covers of modern rock music. Are there any movie soundtracks you like?

We have some favorite songs, I had written down to walk down to shake the frost by Tyler Childers but now I’m leaning towards the traditional way, even though we aren’t in a church. Do you think it would be weird to go traditional bridal music in a barn ceremony?

Not weird at all. Use anything you want.

Not weird at all! Our officiant kept things pretty religious but I walked down the aisle to the steel guitar solo part of The Boxer as my fiancé and I decided played by our violinist.

I feel like the Wedding March feels more like a funeral dirge, and Pachelbel's Canon is beautiful, but very overdone. I'm walking to "A Million Dreams" from the Greatest Showman soundtrack, it perfectly encapsulates our relationship and the movie means a LOT to us.

Almost every wedding I've been to in the last 5-10 years, brides have walked to nontraditional, popular music. A very popular choice has been "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. But I feel the song should be something really special and personal, something that means a lot to you and your fiance.
One I absolutely love is from the Zorro soundtrack, "I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You". If we didn't already pick "A Million Dreams", we would have totally chosen that song.

I've never been to a wedding where they used the traditional wedding march. I think it's a dying tradition honestly.

I'm thinking of using Repeat Until Death by Novo Amor. I just really love the instrumentals and it gives me chills whenever I hear it.

I'm coming in to the instrumental version of A Thousand Years. I just think it's beautiful. And it's not a church wedding, so why not. Go with something you love.
