I think you can dance to whatever you want, but I do have to agree with your friends in that it is kind of a sad song for a wedding....

I don't know if anyone really listens to the lyrics during a couple's first dance. And, does it really matter if they do? The song is for YOU, the dance is for YOU. It's your first as husband and wife. Others will forget what you danced to, but you'll remember. If it has special meaning for you both, then great.

We wanted something timeless that wouldn't scream that we were married in 2013. We chose "Fly Me to the Moon." It doesn't hurt that we both LOVE Sinatra.

Hmm... I just looked up the lyrics. It's not super sad, IMO. I think he's just saying he wants to fall in love with this woman and trust her to treat him right.

Fly me to the moon is a good one but idk how the fiancé would feel about that one lol he's not as big a Sinatra fan as I. For us the song reminds us of our first time ever dancing with each other and every time it comes on no matter where we are he drops everything and makes me dance so for us its happy memories! and I agree with you miss madeline I think of it as a song about falling in love not anything else just wanted some opinions thank you ladies!

I suppose it could *sound* sad, but it's not - to me it sounds good. The lyric 'let me down easy' isn't referring to her not liking/loving him back; it sounds more positive than that.

    1. Love that song! 2. This dance is about you and your honey! No one else! Smiley smile We are doing "Hey, Pretty Girl" but cutting it off before the end part. Since we don't have a baby together. We are doing God Gave Me You for the dance for all married couples where the oldest married couple stays standing. Smiley smile
