I'd personally say wait. I currently have braces..it's been about a year. They tell me I only have about 4 more months left (so February-ish), and so that gives me hopefully plenty of wiggle room for a late June wedding. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a factor in scheduling that date. I have the white ceramic brackets on top, so the braces aren't super overt, however, food gets stuck in them, they're super uncomfortable all the time and I just don't want to deal with it. I also just had major jaw and nose surgery 2 months ago, and i was SO thankful i was able to schedule it with what will hopefully be plenty of time for most of the swelling to subside and function to return.

Hey, I can understand your situation. My marriage was scheduled when I started thinking about having braces. Normal braces would take at least two years to straighten the teeth. But, I couldn't wait for so long as I wanted them to be fixed before my marriage. So, I chose to have six month braces from Houston , which took only six months to straighten my teeth.
