I like the idea of the robes because then they can use them while getting ready and in the personal time. I thought about getting necklaces or braclets with there name on it and attaching it to card stock asking that way they have bracelets and necklaces on Etsy and they have amazing gift ideas on there as well.

For my bridesmaid proposals, I have cards I made that say “Will you be my bridesmaid?” in my wedding colors which I will give them with their bridesmaid robes. Then, I plan to give them earrings after the wedding as a thank-you gift.

I just asked. Bridesmaids proposals are just an unnecessary extra to try get brides to waste more money. I think it's a better idea to save the money and just buy a great thank you gift

Doing a bridesmaid proposal is unnecessary. Just ask them to lunch, call them on the phone, or send them a card and ask. Doing a "proposal" just puts more pressure on them to say yes and could be really uncomfortable if, for some reason, one of your friends wants to decline. If you want to give them a gift, you can still do so after they say yes.

I don't know what a bridesmaid rope is so I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

I gave them each a stemless champagne glass with their name on it so we can use it to toast on the wedding day, and we also popped champagne when I asked them all together 😂 if you get them a gift you want to use in photos, make sure you get yourself one so you match! I have 5 bridesmaids and I only spent $80 total on my proposal boxes. They all loved it. It fits my personality too because I’m a pretty crafty person so it wasn’t weird. Do what’s right for you!

This is how I asked! I sent each of my BMs (6) and flower girl puzzle pieces wrapped up in an organza bag. Once they put it together, it was a scratch-off to see my question! I think I spent $10 each.

I am making treasure chest boxes that have items for the wedding, bachelorette party & some little items that are personal to each girl. I am also doing ones that are for the Groomsmen.

Robes are in there, little flasks for guys, deck of cards, book, chocolate, and some makeup/spa items as well as “Harry Potter” Things since it is a “Harry Potter” themed wedding.

The guys boxes have a “My future Wife made me send this”.... lol

Robes are a great idea! I put personalized wine labels on some bottles of wine asking them to be my bridesmaid (each one different depending on the type of wine they liked), along with a stemless wine glass that says "I do crew"

I just asked. Bridesmaid proposal boxes seem like such a waste of money to me, and I would think it would put pressure on someone to say yes even if their real answer is no.

I am hand painting mine. And the items in it are more for them- all personalized in some way. Name or colour or what they like the best.

The girls knew, it took 7yrs for my FH to ask!, they were the ones I’d ask, so the boxes are a “Thank You, Proposal”...

    to each their own tho.

I gave my bridesmaids robes in their proposal boxes, along with a sunflower shaped sugar cookie, hair ties, a card, and another small thing or two.

But I agree, proposal gifts are not necessary at all.

Hi Crystal! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

Along with the bridesmaid robes, you could have a wine or champagne glass and a note with it asking! You could also take them out to dinner and give them their robes there while asking! I found an article with some other cute ideas, I'll link it below!

I just got through making these tonight, I bought the labels at staples and they have the template you can customize the text. All the gifts I either got from the 99 cent store, target, or bevmo. Hope this helps!

A bridesmaid proposal box is such a fun idea! I am doing the same. However, I think that if you plan on giving them personalized robes with the intention of using it the morning of your wedding while getting ready, I think you are better off saving the robes and giving it to them on the actual morning of the wedding. You give your bridesmaids a wedding gift after all, so why not save the main items for the wedding day!

For my proposal boxes, I plan on giving it to them at my engagement party. I used Zazzle . com for my items. I found cute floral cards that I was able to customize that said, "NAME, will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor." I also customized some cute floral mugs that say their name, title, and date of wedding. I also plan to include bridesmaids/MOH pins so they can wear at the engagement party, a photo of my color palette, bridesmaid dress inspiration, and photos of the wedding venue. I may also include mini wine or alcohol bottles Smiley smile

When I was a bridesmaid last year, I also received a proposal box, but it had a lot of useless stuff in it like a sash and pin that was never used, nail polish, a bride squad silicone bracelet that was never used, a random romantic drama dvd lol. Also, what happened was, most of the bridesmaids forget to bring their pins or sash to the bridal shower/ bachelorette, so that was really annoying. That's another reason why you should wait to give them the robes until the day of the wedding if that's what you want them to use it for while they get ready.

I did boxes in my color theme. I included stemless wine glasses with bride tribe decals i got from Michaels. A shot glass. Tic tacs. Nail polish and a tote from zazzle with their name in my wedding colors. For those of you saying they aren't necessary that wasn't her question. If you didn't include them keep scrolling no need to criticize what she chooses to do with her money. I also gave them a brunch at my house cooked everything myself. We watched a movie and had mimosas!
