Hey ladies! I’m getting married May 9th, 2020, and I’m just curious is anyone else still moving forward with their big day? I am going with the flow and still hoping for the best that our day doesn’t get postponed! I see a lot of brides out their postponing so it makes me question if I should be or if I’m crazy for not postponing?? Also, I’m from MN and so far we aren’t in lockdown. That would be the ONLY way I would postpone is if there was a lockdown during our big day! Otherwise we are rolling with the punches and going with the flow. What about everyone else??

Yes! I had two bridal showers actually (divorce family probs lol) and I sent out my invites beginning of March! So that’s all set and done. The only thing that’s changed is my bachelorette party! That got moved to May 1st weekend instead of April 3rd weekend!

    Hi Chantell,

We were going to get married May 22nd, 2020 but due to the CDC recommendations plus having many guests traveling from Canada, parts of the US and Ecuador we had to make the difficult decision to postpone it for next year. Seeing how things are progressing in the US.. its not safe to have a wedding in May through August. At this point we are talking about a worldwide pandemic and we need to make sure we are all following what government entities and WHO are recommending.

We are scheduled for May 30 and at this point still hopeful. We've reached out to all of our vendors and decided we would revisit the current situation again in about 2 weeks. My bridal shower has been postponed(but I think it may end up cancelled). We are supposed to send out our invites soon and i'm just bummed that when people receive it their first thought is going to be "Oh man, COVID-19."

We've decided that regardless He & I will be getting married that day and then have a reception/wedding later. He's 39 & I'm 34 so I think we've waited long enough lol.

Sorry to all of you going through this too! Not for the faint of heart but it seems like everyone is trying to stay level-headed and positive Smiley winking Ultimately, we found our favorite people and we are marrying them and that's what matters.

I think it's personal and depends on your guests and where you live and when the wedding is. Our wedding is July 19. None of our guests are flying, though out of town they will be driving. Most of our guests is family so they are okay for still attending the wedding. Our venue isn't canceling, we may just have to reduce our guest size which we are okay with so we are just going to see how it plays out and pray for the best! If we have to only have family,we will be ok with that. Weddings are about celebrating a union, not putting on a show so that's all that matters! Have faith!

I’m in the same boat. My wedding is May 8 in NY Since we fall under the 8 weeks, my venue reached out and offered to postpone our date however they only have something Monday-Thursday. They also said that we can wait until April 1 to make a decision because they might have more guidelines from the CDC and depending on that, we will keep the date in May or postpone to 2021. So very sad.

Hi! My date is May 16th in Chicago. We are also trying to go with the flow for now and hope things change by mid April. We are on a lockdown until April 7th so it is making me very nervous as to what to do. 🤞🤞🤞

Hello how are I hope all is well. I live here in Los Angeles County, California. We are currently in self quarantine day by day things are always changing. My issue is I hired The Hotel Fullerton in Orange County. My wedding coordinator will not cancel/post pone the wedding not until one month before. This is really stressing me out. I have had 6 couple cancel due to the Covid-19. Truthfully at this point my venue is just beating around the bush. People are scared and truthfully i do not blame them. At this time the only important thing to me is to get married and just have a smaller guest list of 120 people. I will be losing out on alot of money. Life is always precious now I just want to get married. Good luck on your big day

My wedding is on July 12th. I'm in LA so we are on lockdown at the moment. My plans are still in place but I have a contingency plan in place with my current venue for a later date. I also have a backup location (my grandparents' backyard). I've spoken with all my vendors and they have been really accommodating. If I have to postpone I have designed a change of date/venue card saved in my Shutterfly account. I am really hoping for the best because I really don't want to postpone my wedding. Best wishes to all you brides.

Our wedding was supposed to be August 7, 2020 in Washington state, but they already reached to us to reschedule. Had to move our day to another year, it's not clear if this virus thing is going to be resolved by Fall.

We’re getting married May 9th (maybe) and I was wondering what everyone is doing about the marriage license. Our municipal building is closed to the public so I don’t even know if we’ll be able to get one or not. I’m just so devastated.

My wedding was supposed to be May 9th too. I'm in Washington state and we have a 50 person ban. I was still holding out hope that we could have the wedding, but cut down the guest-list to under 50, which would just be our immediate family and the bridesmaids/groomsmen. I sent out the save the dates last week, but I addressed everything regarding COVID-19 on my website.

Since the amount of corona virus cases just keeps multiplying, my fiance told me yesterday that he thinks even just our family at the wedding could put both our parents at risk since they're over 60, and my dad is battling cancer right now, so it's not worth putting him in danger just for us to get married.

I'm super upset over this, I've been working my butt off to plan a wedding in 3 months. We are now talking about eloping on May 9th just the two of us, and then have a normal wedding later on. I know it's probably not that uncommon, but the thought of having a wedding after we're already married seems so weird to me. Definitely feeling defeated today.

I just checked all of our courts and they are also closed for marriage ceremonies through mid April... No idea what we're supposed to do now.
