    We had a housewarming party with my family (everyone in the picture). About half of them knew he was going to propose, so it was definitely a surprise!

    Yes, it's a morganite, so it's got a pale peach hue.

    I was definitely not expecting a proposal, I had long since given up on the idea that he would propose, haha! We were perfectly happy just being together, and even after getting engaged weren't in a hurry to get married. But when we started planning our 10th anniversary trip, we decided to get married while on vacation in Yosemite and then have a big backyard reception when we get home. It just felt right, and I'm excited to get the best of both worlds. A small intimate ceremony with immediate family, and a big party with all of our friends!

    My birthstone is garnet and I have always loved these rare green demantoid garnets from Russia. I truly expected a diamond, but when I was surprised by this gem I was shocked! He hand picked the stone from a gem show and flew it home to our hometown jewler to custom design the setting. Hes a keeper for sure! Smiley winking
