Brides switching into different dress for reception?

Darylese, on June 10, 2019 at 2:32 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
What brides are switching into a different dress for their reception? I just found my dress but It is a ball gown and it will be difficult to dance in. I want to be comfortable but also still feel beautiful during the reception. Should I get another dress? Please help! I would love some advice. Thank you!

Initially I wanted to change into another dress but I spent a ridiculous amount of money on my dress soooo I’ll be wearing it for the whole day and maybe some other days after I get married 😂😂

LOL! "And, maybe some other days after I get married...." So cute! This is how daughter felt. She loved her dress, a very full a-line ballgown, and she was a crazy dancing fool in it all night long. But if you can afford a second dress and want to change, this is definitely one of the things that is all your decision. Smiley heart

Hey Darylese! Congratulations on finding your dress!

Getting a second dress is an entirely personal preference. Some brides love to change into a different dress while others want to wear their dress for as long as possible on their wedding day.

Did you find your dress comfortable when you tried it on?

Have you thought about shoes to wear with your dress? If your main concern is being comfortable, maybe you could consider changing from heels into flats for your reception so that you can keep your ballgown on, but still be a bit comfier. Smiley smile

Haha my mom laughs every time I say it. I told her and another bride on here that my dress may make an appearance on the honeymoon, when I’m doing laundry, on the plane, while shopping, etc. Get all my money’s worth lol. Luckily my dress is so comfortable and I tested some dance moves while I was in it to make sure I could get down lol. I agree definitely get another dress if it’s in the budget and if your dress will restrict your dancing 😀

I definitely understand why people change dresses but I’m staying in mine all night! I made sure I found a dress I know I’d be comfortable in all day, I literally walked around the store for a good 2 hours in my dress haha I just didn’t wanna take it off! There were some dresses I loved but didn’t choose just because I knew I wouldn’t be able to dance in them or really even walk or sit! Lol i figured if I was paying all this money for a beautiful dress I’m making sure I can stay in it the whole time.

I bought a second dress because bustling mine is a dicey proposition. The train isn't very long, so I'm planning to stay in it as long as possible, but I bought a lovely cream chiffon dress for less than $100 that I can change into when I need to.

I personally can't justify it. Ultimately, you will be able to dance in anything if you use enough hip lol. But you do you! I just didn't feel like I could purchase another dress just to dance when I rather just be with everyone.
