I'm newly engaged, and also very new to the wedding planning process. Right now things are bit jumbled in my brain with all of the details so I'm scaling back and reaching out to y'all for some inspiration.

What were some of your favorite things that you'd encourage another bride to consider?

What were the fails (or the lessons learned) that you wish you had never done?

How fun! I love that idea We're touring our venue in a little over a week, so I'm not 100% sure of what space will look like yet for a photo booth area; but I will definitely be keeping this in mind!

I know this advice will still be helpful to other brides though! Thank you for sharing! I'm so grateful we do have a lot of things lined up, especially since we're planning a wedding that's only 6 months out.

Good luck with the tour! I did just remember one thing that probably doesn't qualify as a "fail", but it's a something I would do differently. I'd made a conscious effort not to be on my phone all night during our reception, so I purposefully left it in my bridal suite at the venue. Now, though, I wish I'd grabbed it because it occurred to me that I didn't get any pictures specifically of me with guests who weren't family or part of the bridal party. I wish I had those.

This is a great tip, because I would be inclined to do the same. Maybe I'll put my phone in airplane mode so I'm not getting notifications (which is what I'd be most distracted by), but can still take pictures. Thanks for sharing!

My favorite part was pre-marital counseling!

A fail was buying our own linens. I bought tablecloths and runners for a STEAL. They were great quality, but it was so hard to steam them all. I ended up taking them to the dry cleaners to be steamed which cost me around $100 more. Now, I’m having a hard time finding anyone to buy them. Not a great investment!

I'm looking forward to us starting our premarital counseling as well!
Thankfully our venue has linens that we'll be using so that will be one less headache. The goal is to keep as many DIY/rentals at a minimum; so hopefully it stays that way

Don't let someone with chronic procrastination syndrome plan your events. *Caught* FMIL waited till too late to plan rehearsal dinner - places were all booked up.
Bridal shower cancelled because she waited till everyone moved out of the state to host - no one can come
Engagement party cancelled because now we are only a few months away from the wedding (we are engaged for 3 years)
