Brides & their wedding rehearsal!!!!

Soon-To-Be Mrs. G, on June 24, 2018 at 6:33 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 31

Hi All!!!

My question today is:

Did you or do you plan to practice your walk during your wedding rehearsal?

I have 2 months until my big day and cannot decide if I will practice walking during the rehearsal!

I know many brides who did not practice their walk......and if I choose not to practice my walk; I don't want anyone to "fill in" for me!!!

What to do??? What to do???

NOTE: It just seems awkward to have another woman "fill-in" for me. ..... just how far does a "fill-in" go?? Do they practice standing at the altar with your Fiance also???....etc.

I've never heard of this. Honest question: why does someone fill in for you?

I had absolutely no idea this was a thing. Is it so the groom doesn’t see you walking down the aisle so it’s special on your wedding day?

I generally don’t understand rehearsals. People know how to walk and stand.

I’m practicing myself. All of my cousins wives did the proxy bride thing and it makes no sense to me, I think I want to practice myself so I am more comfortable the day of

We're not really doing a rehearsal. We plan to talk about it at our rehearsal dinner, and then the coordinator will go over it with our wedding party on the day of, while we're off doing other things.

Same lol. When my sister got married, we had to practice walking like 10 times and it’s like okay we get how to walk and when to walk

I don't think we're gonna do an actual rehearsal. I think everyone knows how to walk and even the flower girl and ring bearer have someone older walking with them since they're so young. We'll probably just do a run through of the layout at the rehearsal dinner.

I'm going to practice alone. I'm clumsy, and i have a long walk, and tons of steps outdoor. I don't want to trip.

We just watched the 1950s version of “Father of the Bride” and it was a thing in the movie, the bride not practicing. But other than that, every wedding I’ve been in, the bride practiced, that’s what we saved the bows from the shower for.

Ha! Ditto in my friend’s wedding! That is probably what made me sour on rehearsals. The lady at the church kept yelling at us and we had to practice multiple times. I’m like/-this isn’t broadway, and we are adults.

I'll practice just to make sure I have my timing right and don't walk too fast. I can't imagine having to run that through more than once or twice though

I have never heard of that. We plan to rehearse almost everything! I have long ways to walk so I want to make sure the music synces up with my walking. 😂
