Bride's Wedding Attire at 60 Years Old

Anita, on September 13, 2010 at 12:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

In planning a Sept 2011 wedding, I want simple and elegant. Any ideas for a youthful look that's not ordinary?

Congratulations Anita! You go girl! If you stay true to your style you can never go wrong, and considering your style seems to be simple and elegant you are all set.

I haven't narrowed the style down to a dress yet, Lynley, but you're right on the other assumptions.

Ok, well, congratulations! Whats your personal style like? Do you like classic, modern, vintage?

Congrats! I recently went to the wedding of my best friend's Mom. She's in her late 50s and didn't feel comfortable in a regular wedding dress and didn't want to do the white/cream suit that many older brides opt for. She got a beautiful champagne colored evening dress from a department store. Maybe you'd like something like this? http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3108009?origin=category&resultback=0

I love these 2 dresses myself, but I dunno where to get them. I found them on Offbeat Bride and someone else posted them and said she found them on a plus sized bride forum elsewhere.

Here is another idea, some department stores offer personal shoppers. The service is free and there is not usually a minimum purchase required. I know more than a few stylish, elegantly dressed women who rely on their services. If interested, you can call your local department stores. They will also work within your budget.

This style flatters just about every body type, and looks gorgeous. It comes in champagne, so it's a bridal-like color but not white if you were wanting to avoid it.
