Hello, so I asked my coordinator at my venue and found out that we cannot take home extra food from the buffet we are having for the wedding. I was bummed because I wanted my guests to take a doggie bag home. Is that typically what happens? I'm not familiar obviously of how these things work. Now I was debating if I should've done a plated dinner instead. But then I'm thinking if I did a plated it would be just one selection and one serving. I guess I just need someone to tell me it's worth the $$. Thanks!

One venue I was at years ago allowed us to take home the leftovers we paid for, but they let us know they were not happy about it. It wasn't going to be thrown away. But since the staff doesn't get tipped like they would if they were serving customers buying their own food, they let the staff have the leftover food as a perk to take home. Now that you took it home the staff lost their expected meals.
