I have a history to PAs but have not had them often at all for the last 8 years. Was in a friend's wedding and had one so bad I couldn't walk down the aisle in fear of standing throughout the entire ceremony and passing out. Full on meltdown and didn't walk. tearful I ruined their wedding but they were so understanding. So because of that I am now scared that will happen for my own wedding. I wanted a super small edding but then was mad at myself bc of the fear and keeping myself from enjoying what I would have normally done. Its the quiet crowds that get me. Don't necessarily even have to be THAT big. So I am shooting for an outdoor wedding hoping that there will be the outdoor sounds and lots of fresh air to keep me on my feet - literally. I see a lot of posts on here about people worrying about ceremony panic attacks but nobody has posted an update. Did your fears come true? Im freaking out and I have 6 MONTHS still! Smiley sad

@TheMrs any update on how you are feeling? I too suffer from panic disorder and am going through the same thing. Dr. upped my meds 2 weeks ago and I'm still impatiently waiting for them to kick in. Hoping I can survive the next 5 months!

How did it go? I'm 2 weeks out and having panic attacks already. I have nrurocardiogenic syncope and faint so between that and my anxiety, it's a cycle!

I have horrible panic attacks and I almost passed out at my wedding last year…and it was only immediate family, so maybe 15 people watching us. We did it outside so I thought that would help but I guess it didn’t. My SIL saw I was starting to sway and get pale so she came up and got my flowers and told me to hold my husbands hands. That actually helped and a little bit later I was fine and able to read my vows. I am now worried for my best friends wedding next month, as I am a bridesmaid and she is having a huge wedding in a church with hundreds of people. I have decided to forego the alcohol and stick with my anxiety meds that day, but I am so scared I will pass out on stage and ruin her wedding.

Hi! So I'm nearly a decade late to seeing this article. There's so many of these replies I can relate to. I've got chronic health issues none are life threatening but make me feel like crap most days. I have 2 sugar intolerances so that causes all kinds of issues, hyper POTS which affects the nervous system. I get tachycardia and high blood pressure. I've been diagnosed with Ménière’s disease so I get vertigo and dizzy easily and overactive bladder. When I get nervous I tend to use the bathroom frequently/ urgently, heart pounds/ races, dizzy, very nauseated and I sweat profusely. Those wedding dresses are hot. I have a fear of fainting or having a panic attack while at the alter. I'm having a small wedding less then 50. I know I'm going to feel awful on my wedding day which is coming up in 5 days. I have some anti anxiety medicine but I'm nervous to take it. Most just knock me out, feel like a zombie, and can't function. I have had some that made me dizzy. Sometimes my anticipation anxiety is from overthinking of everyone watching me, to quiet, or worried I'll faint. I'm probably going to have a very short sit down ceremony. I only have 30 minutes to get dressed once i get to the wedding venue. I know a sit down ceremony is not typical but I guess it's better that then me risking of passing out. How did everyone weddings go? Congratulations to all the married couples that survived their wedding!
