Ok so my friends were supposed to get married in South Carolina this Sunday but had to cancel that due to travel restrictions. We assumed the wedding was off but 2 days ago they decided to get married anyways at their parents backyard. There are supposed to be 35+ people attending and it’s going to be cold and raining out so everyone will be crammed into the tiny house. My husband and I are apart of the wedding party so I feel like I need to go to the ceremony but I don’t know how comfortable I am attending the reception with that many people right now as I share the same house as my elderly grandparents. What would you do in this situation and should I stay for the entire wedding?

You should not be asked to put your safety or the safety of your loved ones at risk to attend an event. If you don't feel safe going, it's perfectly fine not to go, regardless of whether or not you are in the wedding party.

Frankly, I think it is really inconsiderate of the couple to put anyone in this situation. I understand the couple's desire to still get married, have their closest friends and family present, and make the day feel special. If the event was outdoors and it was possible to maintain social distancing, I could see trying to still do something small and inviting those closest to take part if they wanted. But I would never expect anyone to risk themselves just to see me say "I do." This is just too risky and not fair to you, your family, or anyone else.

Y'all just a heads up this thread is a couple weeks old. We don't know what OP decided to do, but either way, the date has passed.
