Bridesmaid attire to get ready

Hey! So originally, I wanted to give my girls cute robes to get ready in before the wedding but I've talked to a bunch of women who tell me how impractical they are and they often end up wearing something underneath so that it doesn't open up. Also, they say nobody ever really wears them again....

Hey! Also, they say nobody ever really wears them again. Trying to think of other cute things we can all wear besides robes or shirts that say BM, MOH, etc. Any other ideas???

I'm getting my girls pajama shorts and a tank top.

I'm not a fan of the robes (mostly because I have two that I never wear) but I have pajama pants that I LOVE from my brother's wedding.

I love the idea of matching for pictures, obviously your bridesmaids aren't props but giving them something to wear while getting ready is so exciting for everyone, I would be disappointed if I was in a wedding and didn't get a "getting ready" outfit.

My advice would be think of something they would wear again, and something that won't mess up their hair.

An idea I was throwing around for a bit (but ultimately decided not to do) was a zip up hoodie. I feel like everyone can wear a hoodie again and it's something different but at the same time if they're truly wearing it to get ready in they're probably not wearing a shirt under it and that might not be comfortable.

I'm searching for good prices on satin pajama sets, the kind that button up. I seriously considered onesies, but couldn't find adult ones that weren't animals, plus at the end of may it might be a bit warm. For the pjs they'll have a choice between long pants or shorts, since they'll have different preferences. And if someone doesn't want to wear them, that's okay! They all seem good with the cute getting ready photos though.

^I also like the idea of a hoodie, but you're right about probably having something on underneath.

I love robes and wear them all the time. If you're worried they won't, what about a cut shorts & shirt pajama-y type set?

I got them those shirts that are super soft, and loose at the top, but the waste and 3/4 length sleeves are tight, then got the initial of their first name monogrammed on it so they could wear it again. Also before ordering them, I asked for each BM's first and second favorite colors and tried to get one that they would prefer. Other than some of the shirts being too large, I thought it turned out well and they were excited to wear whatever bottoms they wanted with it. (I don't know what bridezilla forced them to wear uncomfortable jeans all day before, but yoga pants and leggings looked perfectly fine in photos!)

BUT I do have to say, I was secretly kind of sad when my best-friend got us over-sized 'lumberjack' shirts to wear on the day of hers...and it turned out to be the most comfortable, warm shirt ever. Now I wear it all the time. So if that's your style, it worked really well and the pictures came out really cute!

We just did monogrammed button downs. They're men's so they were somewhat baggy and super comfy. Everyone wore comfortable pants, and I've seen a couple of the girls rewear them. They also made it easy to get changed since we could just unbutton the shirt before getting into our dresses.

To add, I paid for them all and these were not my girls gifts.

Well, I did get my girls satin robes, but they don't say 'MOH' or anything like that. They are a really pretty floral. I think they will like them, and they can wear them again because they aren't "labeled".

The last wedding I was in, the bride bought is pretty floral robes---however, 3 out 5 of us were not in the proper size. Robes just don't fit my wide hips, so I thought I was going to flash everyone and couldn't even sit down. The other girls were plus sized and they had similar issues. No one complained or anything, but it just didn't work for most of us.

I would just say to keep your bridesmaid's bodies into consideration.

I ordered floral silk robes. It's nice to wear instead of a shirt so don't have to pull a shirt off after getting hair and makeup done.

    Whatever they want?

I'm 5'11", guess where those little robes sit? I'm also a 32F, yeah not happening. I've been in lots of weddings and the photographer has never taken "getting ready" pictures. Save your money, let your BMs get dressed in whatever they want.

UO: I wear bridesmaid/bachelorette party tanktops and t-shirts to bed.

I don't wear robes again though and have actually thrown one away.
