Cindy
Dedicated April 2022

Bridesmaid boyfriend

Cindy, on October 1, 2021 at 9:47 AM Posted in Planning 2 11
One of my bridesmaids has been dating a guy for over 2 years . My fiancé and I like him but he gets drunk quiet often . My bridesmaid even told us he got drunk once and peed outside her parents house . (I think that’s what scarred me ) I understand we’re not all ourselves when we drink but I’m nervous about him . Our concern is him getting hammered and acting a fool . Do I address this or do I just let them be. We are having an open bar reception

Assuming you have licensed bartenders serving your guests, I’d let it be. Bartenders know when to cut people off.

If there's someone that you're worried about the wedding, you can also specifically ask the bartenders to monitor that person. I was in a wedding recently and knew the bride was concerned about a particular guest. I asked the bartenders to give her little pours for the rest of the night.

Maybe you can reach out to the bartender and ask them to water down his drinks or they can cut him off

We have the same issue with my MIL. Talk to your wedding planner/day of coordinator/bartenders and explain the situation so they can be extra careful about serving this person. My MOH discussed this (with my groom) and we agreed that if I give her "the signal", she's to tell the bar to stop serving MIL drinks.

Yes!! And you can warn your bartender about this particular person. Although it might be easier to say something to your bridesmaid as well.

This isn't something you need to worry about on your wedding day. I hope things work out!
