Bridesmaid Dress as Bridal Gown?

Has anyone used a bridesmaid dress as their bridal gown? Or maybe you know someone that did? I've been looking at different alternatives for a dress in attempts to keep costs down. I'm not totally set on this idea, but one of my concerns is that it might not look "bride" enough. I would love to hear...

I'm on a Facebook group about weddings, and many of the girls have purchased their gowns on dressilyme.net. They've posted photos and all look great.

I know it sounds crazy...but I ordered my dress online! I sent in my measurements ( I added an inch to all of them) and the dress was AMAZING! I only spent like 300 dollars and it fit perfect...it was a touch long...but I would recommend ordering it a but bigger, then you can always take it in!

I really considered it because I had a beach DW and felt the traditional dresses were too much for what I wanted. Fortunately I found a simple white one shoulder wedding dress for less than $100 at DB. Perfect for my DW.

My mom got married in the 90s wearing her nieces 8th grade promotion dress. It's your day, wear whatever you want. No one should tell you what you can or cannot wear.

I believe Azazie also makes bridal gowns that are simpler, and on the less expensive side. If I remember right they are $300-500. I would also look into secondhand bridal shops. There are a couple near me that sell the dresses for charity and I've seen people get amazing dresses from them!
