Bridesmaid Flip Flops Help

Krista933, on May 25, 2016 at 10:56 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

Hi,

I really wanted to buy my girls flip flops (personalized) for the wedding. Ive looked on Etsy and funds are running short so I cant do $12 a pair. I need 9 pairs. I was thinking of DIYing it. Has anyone done this? Do you think buying alphabet stickers will work and just applying them to a $1 pair of flip flops? Anyone?!?!? help please =]

The photo is my vision but with mint flip flops instead of white.

I would be really annoyed if i had to wear cheap flip flops to a wedding. They are horrible to dance in, and if im wearing a (likely expensive) pretty dress, i want to wear pretty shoes im comfortable in. Eta, I'd throw these in the trash asap. They will look as cheap as they are.

Cheap stickers might just come off with wear. Also, if I was gifted these I probably wouldn't wear them because they say bridesmaid. That's a 1 time thing and not the oat important thing in my life. If money is an issue I wouldn't bother with them.

White flip flops will get super dirty really fast. Also anything you stick, write or paint on there is going to rub off and probably end up on their feet. Just get a couple pairs of solid color ones from old navy or target. Target has bedazzled ones if that's your thing.

I personally don't get the whole personalized thing with bridesmaid written on everything. I wouldn't use those items again. Just get them plain ones from Old Navy and you're good to go!

Not sure if they are wearing them for the wedding or not. It's your wedding so if you want them to wear them during the ceremony that's your call.

Flip Flops are nice to get ready in or maybe to slip into at the end of a long night. But like @nautibride said, if they said bridesmaid I'd probably not wear them again. I'd rather have a plain pair of Old Navy flip flops I could continue to wear later (I'm still using a pair from a wedding I was in 2 years ago). It's probably not worth 1)paying for the customization 2) DIY'ing. I say just buy plain old navy ones in your color and be done with it.

I would skip on adding bridesmaid to the flip flops. You won't be able to see the wording when they are wearing them

Macy's has some decent "bridesmaid" flips. Not sure how much they cost though- I saw light blue, white, and I think pink

Thanks ladies. I made a flip basket for guests with old navy flip flops so I'm going to get the girls plain ones in colors to match their dresses. I might add a little sparkle to the thong part of the flip flops =]
