Bridesmaid Gifts for out of town bridesmaids

Kathryn, on December 3, 2015 at 10:47 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

What is everyone doing for bridesmaid gifts? I'm trying to start gathering ideas. My problem is 3 of my 4 bridesmaids live out of state and will most likely be flying in. I don't want to get them anything that would be difficult to travel with especially if they're going on a plane.

Why not get them each something that represents an interest of theirs. For example, get that bridesmaid who likes to read a book or if one of them loves to travel, maybe get her custom luggage tags. Make it personal!

    ^^Agreed.

Framed photos are generally fairly easy to pack too: if you could find a really pretty frame, and a favorite picture of you with that particular BM, that might be nice too.

    But personal is always good.

I was lucky in the fact that all of my girls are coffee and tea fans, so I got them each a really pretty much (easily packed in clothing for the flight home) I also got scarves in favorite colors or with a favorite design on them (my sister loves dragonflies, so she got a dragonfly scarf).

I've thought about a gift card like Starbucks and possibly an Alex and Ani bangle with a charm meaning something to them so far.

I gifted my BMs silk robes embroidered with their names; clutches they could use at the wedding if they wanted; and hangers with their names on it. Other good ideas would be jewelry- that can be easily tucked into a suitcase!

Each bridesmaid is getting a scrapbook of our friendship. It's not terribly expensive, but will take me a lot of time and thought, which I think makes the best gifts. Also, each girl is getting a pair of earrings to wear for the wedding, although this is more of a gift for me than for them.

When I was in a wedding outstate I got a hanging toiletry bag and makeup bag monogrammed. They were easily packable and I started using the Toiletry bag right away!

When buying their gifts, consider that some of them might not be checking bags. I got wine as a BM present and had to leave it at my mom's house when I caught my flight home the day after the wedding.
